    Gudjonis: Assignment #3-Module 3

    Pre-training
    www.google.com

With a Google account, users can set up wikis, blogs, groups, surveys, documents, and many more functions to serve as pre-training tools. Presenters can set up groups to view any necessary work and provide a place for pre-training questions or concerns. Seeing that this type of web site is for the background aspect of a training it would best help in essential learning, allowing the learner to make sense of complex ideas that may be new to them and allow a place for others to assist. I found this site to be better than others due to the multiple functions, global accessibility, and ease of use.

    www.discoveryeducation.com

This website provides video clips on many subjects in all grade levels. Even though it is geared towards the younger student population, all presenters could utilize the video clips for introducing topics, reviewing information, and providing real-world connections. This web site helps the learner select information that is relevant to the needed topic and in turn helps to facilitate essential learning. I find this site to be more useful than other video hosting web sites because as an educator I can have videos and correlated material that directly links to my district and state standards. Other teachers can upload videos, quizzes, or other pertinent information that can help facilitate learning around the globe.

    Graphic organizer
    http://bubbl.us/edit.php

This web site gives the user the ability to create bubble maps on a given topic. The user can choose color, size, and placement to ensure that related material goes together. This would help with essential learning as it helps to organize the complexity of a given topic. I found this site to be easy to use and simple to add to wikis/blogs.

    http://www.inspiration.com/Kidspiration

This web site offers a few other options for the creation of graphic organizers that bubbl.us does not. In Webspiration the user can begin a new organizer or choose from a selection of templates. This organization of the ideas and the option to connect pictures can help with the essential learning of material. I often use this web site for the classes I have taken due to its ease of use, variety of templates, and simplicity. I also use the company's graphic organizer for elementary students, (Kidspiration) for assessments, writing, and other cross-curricular assignments. I have used this program for many years and have never been disappointed with the amount of ways I can incorporate it into my 2nd grade classroom.

    Presentation
    http://www.slideshare.net/

Slideshare is a web site that allows the user to create and/or upload presentations for a community of users. After creating a free account, the user can search for other presentations on a topic or create their own for others to use. This site would help with generative learning as it can give the learner various perspectives into the topic and deeper their understanding. I have found this web site to be effective as it provided an easy way to get a presentation to a multitude of potential learners, or a select group. It can be shared globally as the internet is the means for the transmission of data and not a particular program.

    http://www.slideboom.com/

This web site is similar to many in that you can upload powerpoint presentations to the internet. This site is free to register and has an upgrade feature to allow the user the freedom to decide on the amount of space they will need for their organization. It also has a free download option to add to your Microsoft toolbar for easy uploading to your account. This type of presentation web site can help facilitate generative learning if the presentation is done well and does not include too many pictures, clips, or sounds. The learner can view other presentations on topics to clarify or enhance their learning needs. I found this web site easy to register for, relatively easy to upload to, and simple to view videos.

    Authentic assessment activity
    www.yodio.com

This web site is an excellent way for learners to demonstrate deep understanding of concepts by creating a video that includes audio. The audio is uploaded from your cell phone and can use images from your cell phone, computer, or other folders. Generative learning would be displayed by students making real-life connections to the topics, which is best for the higher levels of learning. I found this site to be a fast and easy way to generate publications that can then be shared publicly or privately.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx
    Photo Story 3

This web site is the start to download the program to make digital storytelling projects. This program can use the learners own work, images they download, photographs, and audio to create a digital story that illustrates the level of mastery they have acquired. The learner can add text to further explain the connections to the images as well as change the images with various effects. This type of assessment would show generative learning as the learner has to make connections to the work and is personally driven by the content and creating the story to reflect themselves. I have used this program in my 2nd grade classroom and found that it is easy to teach and allows parents the ability to see their work as the final project is saved in Real Player.
