gClassFolders is a tool that allows for management of all the files that students share with teachers and allows for sharing easily with students. The setup is straight forward and sets up three folders for students for a class - Edit, Preview(Read Only) and Dropbox to turn work in. If your school can't afford Hapara or you don't want to spend lots of time setting up folders, this may be the tool for you.

More and more people are throwing away their USB memory sticks (but probably just losing them down the back of the sofa) in favour of cloud storage. This is a wonderful storage site, download and multi-platform app which is very similar to Dropbox. A synced folder sits on you devices and can be updated and accessed from any device. You can generating a url to share folders or files with other people. It works just fine on a computer with Dropbox already installed and the free account gives you 15GB of storage. That's enough storage where 'tidy' filing schools might begin to migrate their school network storage to the cloud for free - and that's exciting. Lately, I've been trying to find a solution for backing up my school files in a way that I will never lose them and will be able to access them from anywhere, including a mobile device.  There's about a thousand services out there, but the cheapest I've found is Sugarsync.  First of all, it gives you 5 gb for free.  That's 3 more gb than Google, Dropbox, and others give.  Also, it's $5 a month for 30gb.  It syncs all my files and I can access from anywhere.  I tried really hard to find a syncing solution for Google, but you have to have a $50/year Google Apps account and then pay another site to do the syncing for you.
