Navegador para niños autistas

Zac Browser is a totally free software package. It is the first Internet browser developed specifically for children living with variants of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

I'm a big proponent of Google Apps, but the accessibility issues do give me pause. I wonder, though, are all the features that are discussed in the article available via offline/local software packages? Does that mean the majority must be limited to those features that are also available to the blind? Big questions.

When using technology it is inevitable that one is going to need help. A lot of valuable time can be wasted trying to search online or find someone that can help meet your technological needs. That being said, I decided to create a Top 10 list that will help teachers and students become "their" own tech. These sites focus on all aspects of technology (OS, hardware, software, etc) and should help that person find what they are looking for and save them that valuable time.

Microsoft's Photostory is a great piece of software to make video presentations from photos. Designed for XP, but works on newer Windows as well. http://ictmagic.wikispaces.com/Photos+&+Images

Currently free - a service that includes mind-mapping software, flashcards, and quizzing.  Appropriate for middle/high school

Synchronous software service for free use. Easier than elluminate or Breeze, seems quite simple to use. No conversion needed to use PPT or PDF. free. Give it a try!

Free audio recording and editing software.

I've used many mind mapping tools and find them lacking in functionality (xmind) , expensive (inspiration) or very hard to use (Free Mind). Most of these tools will not allow you to have 2 main topics and create a double bubble map (like a venn diagram). Edraw Mind Map has a very easy to use ribbon interface similar to Word 2010 and tons of built in symbols and mind mapping templates. It is free for educational use and their site has tons of video tutorials that cover all the nifty features. It's the first mind mapping program where I felt like I wasn't fighting the interface.
