The Effects of Immigration on the United States' Economy - Penn Wharton Budget Model - 2 views

  •
An article from a college about statistics and effects immigration has on our economy. Negative or positive you make up your mind on how immigration effects us.
  •
Definitely a topic I always find myself neutral. I try to have positive outlooks with the U.S. being the number 1 with the immigration. I get that most immigrants come here for the American dream (freedom) but then I think shouldn't they come here the right way by becoming a citizen first? Since we would have to as well if we were to go live in their countries. Then I see stuff on the news in the U.S. about shootings, bombs, etc caused by an immigrant. That would be my negative outlook.
  •
This article was very interesting. I have often wondered what the effects of immigration are, and if they affect the economy positively or negatively.

Pros and cons of digital devices in adolescence - 1 views

  •
Here are some pros and cons of our current technology that we use on a daily basis. There also are some solutions or ideas on ways to get the benefits from technology without the negative side effects. The information covers the effect on our adolescence more than our adults.
  •
This is a topic that has always interested me as electronic devices have become like a second heart to so many teens- they feel that they can't live without it. I think the biggest negative side effect would be the access the devices give them to things that can harm their self esteem. For example, I've seen teen girls scroll through their Instagram feed, saying how they wish they looked like this girl, or her life looks so great, which can harm their feelings of self worth if they are constantly doing this.

Positive & Negative Effects of Eminent Domain - 0 views

  •
Eminent domain is a controversial issue where some think that government is overstepping its bounds and infringing on the right to own property. Many believe that are benefits to eminent domain which help communities grow economically. A darker side of eminent domain is the mass eviction of poor people for redevelopment projects.

  • One of the challenges in giving that support is that when kids misbehave, our schools often use disciplinary systems that involve withdrawing attention and support, rather than addressing their problems

Developmental Effects of Child Labor - 1 views

  •
Child labor has enduring negative effects on children. Child labor results in the lack of cognitive ability, depression, poor health and lack of social development. Child labor retards a child's overall development in nearly every aspect of life.
  •
I also did an article about child labor and it is very heartbreaking to see what these children go through. It doesn't just keep them from going to school, but it also affects them mentally in the long run. They don't even have a childhood, just skip straight to adult responsibilities with very little knowledge of life.
