The Effects of Immigration on the United States' Economy - Penn Wharton Budget Model - 2 views

  •
An article from a college about statistics and effects immigration has on our economy. Negative or positive you make up your mind on how immigration effects us.
  •
Definitely a topic I always find myself neutral. I try to have positive outlooks with the U.S. being the number 1 with the immigration. I get that most immigrants come here for the American dream (freedom) but then I think shouldn't they come here the right way by becoming a citizen first? Since we would have to as well if we were to go live in their countries. Then I see stuff on the news in the U.S. about shootings, bombs, etc caused by an immigrant. That would be my negative outlook.
  •
This article was very interesting. I have often wondered what the effects of immigration are, and if they affect the economy positively or negatively.

The effects of plastic is an issue not many of us consider because we all take recycling as a good deed but it is shipped to Asia where the poor is effected by pollutants.

Scientists predict the future effects of climate change according reports. Temperatures will continue to increase, and seasons will lengthen. There will be more frequent extreme weather and a rise in sea level.
  •
Climate change is too often ignored, I'm glad that NASA has ongoing updates about the situation. More people should be accessing this site in order to educate themselves.
  •
This is a great article it is also important to know that if we don't get on track it could be too late to reverse the damage. Also how deserts would become even worse wastelands and the weather would be too extreme on earth to be inhabitable.
  •
Using NASA as a source for climate change is great. This is a great web source for being able to quickly see what scientists are saying in active research.
  •
I found this article to be very informative on the effects of climate change. I was not aware that hurricanes would become worse and growing seasons increase.

Health Effects of Secondhand Smoke | American Lung Association - 1 views

  •
Smoking affects many more people than just the person that is choosing to do so. This website entails a number of ways smoking around children or the workplace can severely effect anyone exposed to it.
  •
I am eternally grateful that smoking is not permitted inside public places anymore. Why should adults and children have to suffer from another habit of someone else. Great topic!
  •
This is a topic that is very important to because I feel that it is a huge social injustice towards people who don't smoke or want to deal with the effects of smoking. This is especially unfair to children and women who are pregnant because the health effects can be extremely detrimental.

The effects poverty has on children - 0 views

  •
Within this article I learn about what effects poverty might bring to children. I learn that living in a poverty, it can have effects within the family, and educational outcomes.Children who grown up in poverty don't have many opportunities such as those who grown up in middle class or upper class. Poverty has many effects on a child's life and how they will live as an adult.
  •
I have never researched poverty in children, but I can imagine what kind of effects it has on them as a grown up. When those children are born into that life, the cycle is really hard to get out of.
  •
Poverty is a rough thing on children for sure, agree wit you and good post.

Developmental Effects of Child Labor - 1 views

  •
Child labor has enduring negative effects on children. Child labor results in the lack of cognitive ability, depression, poor health and lack of social development. Child labor retards a child's overall development in nearly every aspect of life.
  •
I also did an article about child labor and it is very heartbreaking to see what these children go through. It doesn't just keep them from going to school, but it also affects them mentally in the long run. They don't even have a childhood, just skip straight to adult responsibilities with very little knowledge of life.

  • e groundwater infrastructure.
  • drip irrigation that makes water use more efficient and crops more productive,
  • guayule, a drought-resistant shrub that could be used in the production of rubber.
  •
The article reviews recent news from Arizona government limiting water supply allotted to farmers for 2022 due to the record breaking low of the Colorado river and the status of the drought. It reviews climate changes effects on our western water supply from the Colorado River and Arizona's share of its percentage being cut by an agreement from the early 1900s. The water supply will force farmers into seeking more resourceful ways of farming from drought proof crop to reducing their growing area and crop types but ultimately demands a change in how the western states and Arizona source their water supply as it effects our food supply for the future.
  •
It is truly devastating how the drought is affecting the food supply and our farmers in Arizona, there is a need for better water management, and we need a lot more water in Arizona to survive in the intense heat.
  •
I can't imagine how a farmer feels. The colorado river needs a dramatic change.
