the Cornell Method. The Cornell Method was invented about sixty years ago (see Walter Pauk's 1962 classic How to Study at College, now in its tenth edition), though I only found out about it last month. It incorporates a lot of what I was doing already-providing spaces for notes, and margins for reactions, connections and comments. But it takes it further, and adds some very cool functions. Firstly, the template gives you less space to write notes. Y

The purpose of the Reimagining Learning Spaces project was to conduct an empirical study that would result in findings to inform the design and use of physical school facilities and examine the ways in which these constructions influence pedagogy. The study focused on newly-established school libraries in Queensland, many of which had been established with funding from the Federal Government's Building the Education Revolution economic stimulus program.

360 video gives students the power to explore a space from every angle. YouTube hosts a range of 360 video content and one of my favorites is from the BBC. On the BBC's YouTube channel you'll find different types of video options for a virtual visit to places around the world. As you search through their content you'll see that they've tagged their videos as 360 to make it especially easy to find.

It's well known that public libraries are no longer just about the books - even e-books. Many community libraries are receiving 21st century digital-age makeovers: Numerous digital technologies, maker spaces to invite creation, even video production suites and 3-D printers now inhabit many libraries across the country.

The makerspace isn't just a fixed space where kids come and go to complete busywork. It's an extension of a well-established approach to educating students that has applications and deep implications across disciplines.
