"We are our narratives" has become a popular slogan. "We" refers to our selves, in the full-blooded person-constituting sense. "Narratives" refers to the stories we tell about our selves and our exploits in settings as trivial as cocktail parties and as serious as intimate discussions with loved ones. We express some in speech. Others we tell silently to ourselves, in that constant little inner voice. The full collection of one's internal and external narratives generates the self we are intimately acquainted with. Our narrative selves continually unfold.

With the establishment of the Center for Future Storytelling, the Media Lab, together with Plymouth Rock Studios, is rethinking storytelling for the 21st century. Made possible by a seven-year, $25-million commitment by Plymouth Rock Studios, the Center takes a new and dynamic approach to how we tell our stories, creating new methods, technologies, and learning programs that recognize and respond to the changing communications landscape.

Discussion and examples for  the usage of narrative film in urban design/planning. I am looking for examples/case of narrative film being used to present urban design/planning. Specifically I am interested in examples, if there are, where stories about some personas'/characters' lives in the proposed urban area are used to illustrate future activities/structures. There are, of course, numerous examples of animations, 3D renderings and "fly over" ariels that display buildings, sometimes showing people. What I am looking for are examples where the persons everyday is used to tell the story of future urban development rather than when people are just part of presenting a building or an area. It is likely that the story is centering the person(s) rather than the area. 

Masterpiece 2.0 is a social media art project by Baschz and Selfcontrolfreak and the first ever unique painting made with a Web 2.0 approach. An exhibition client once told me "It's a game; it's not supposed to tell you anything". I disagreed but didn't say anything at the time. This essay looks at how games can be used to tell stories in a museum setting. But let's start with a more famous figure who would also saw how games could tell stoies; Lord Kitchener. Kitchener was in charge of recruitment for the British forces during the First World War and leant his name to the Kitcheners Army game shown below.

Network Realism is writing that is of and about the network. It's realism because it's so close to our present reality. A realism that posits an increasingly 1:1 relationship between Fiction and the World. A realtime link. Mit Project ROME stellt Adobe ein Tool vor, mit dem sich Audio, Video, Text und Grafik zu interaktiven Präsentationen zusammenführen und veröffentlichen lassen. Das ganze kommt als eine Art Flash/Dreamweaver/Indesign-Mashup daher und richtet sich vornehmlich an Einsteiger. Im Demovideo sieht das Zusammenstellen der Inhalte dann auch recht intuitiv aus. Im YouTube-Kanal zu Project ROME finden sich Videos, die viele Funktionen erklären und Hilfestellung leisten sollen. Ab sofort kann jeder das Tool selbst probieren.
