Transmedia Storytelling around the world: Interviews with leading transmedia storytellers

As I have probably written previously, it's easy enough to find slideshows and videos about storytelling. You can simply go to SlideShare or YouTube and search using "storytelling" as your search term. But given that, for example, the  YouTube search results in 38,000 videos, it's a good idea to watch for others to curate the videos and check out their recommendations (the SlideShare search is set up to return only 16 results; if you search Google using the terms "SlideShare.net" "storytelling," you get 50,000 results, a mix of SlideShare presentations and sites that mention SlideShare presentations).

We discussed the challenges and opportunities facing individuals and organizations and how we can steer experiences to foster meaningful engagement, relationships, and impact. His perspective very much defines how we must weave compelling and engaging storytelling to foster the convergence of media and the future of unscripted drama on the web.

With the establishment of the Center for Future Storytelling, the Media Lab, together with Plymouth Rock Studios, is rethinking storytelling for the 21st century. Made possible by a seven-year, $25-million commitment by Plymouth Rock Studios, the Center takes a new and dynamic approach to how we tell our stories, creating new methods, technologies, and learning programs that recognize and respond to the changing communications landscape.

These are the undeniable trends emerging from the storytelling world, and nonprofit organizations would be wise to take notice and hop on board. BABIES, BUNS AND BUZZERS: What 100 years of experiential entertainment can teach us about transmedia storytelling.

There are many great websites that provide opportunities for students to develop language skills, tell stories, and share back their knowledge in fun, creative, and meaningful ways each using a computer.  There are also terrific websites and portals which have links to excellent online interactives which can be used in the classroom  with an interactive whiteboard.  Below are links and short descriptions of these sites.

Reading through a number of posts and articles on everything from social television to transmedia in marketing, I think one thing stands out very clearly. Everyone is looking at transmedia from their own angle. This is very natural and exactly as it should be, as everyone have their own area of expertise, everyone have their own skillsets and everyone have their own projects in mind when deliberating using transmedia storytelling methods.

Mit Project ROME stellt Adobe ein Tool vor, mit dem sich Audio, Video, Text und Grafik zu interaktiven Präsentationen zusammenführen und veröffentlichen lassen. Im YouTube-Kanal zu Project ROME finden sich Videos, die viele Funktionen erklären und Hilfestellung leisten sollen. Ab sofort kann jeder das Tool selbst probieren.

According to Google CEO Eric Schmidt, by the end of today the web will fill up with more information than what had existed in entirety prior to 2003. Much of this deluge is being created by ordinary netizens, rather than by corporations. The web has become a raging river filled with tweets, status updates, photos and videos.
