Highly Touted Storytelling Videos and Slideshows - A Storied Career - 1 views

  •
As I have probably written previously, it's easy enough to find slideshows and videos about storytelling. You can simply go to SlideShare or YouTube and search using "storytelling" as your search term. But given that, for example, the  YouTube search results in 38,000 videos, it's a good idea to watch for others to curate the videos and check out their recommendations (the SlideShare search is set up to return only 16 results; if you search Google using the terms "SlideShare.net" "storytelling," you get 50,000 results, a mix of SlideShare presentations and sites that mention SlideShare presentations).

Adobes Project ROME: Allrounder fürs Storytelling? « Flackern im Sturm - 2 views

  •

Videos - TEDx transmedia 2011 - 0 views

  •
When I started considering different topics for TEDxTransmedia 2011, I always ended up  in the same direction: the power of extending transmedia properties to areas beyond simple entertainment, exploring the potentials of a transmedial approach to actively help shape a better future. Transmedia has the power to create pro-active communities and to connect generations; and with three typical Italian trademarks PASSION, COURAGE and MAGIC, to make the world better. Rome,  for its history, is the Italian town that best enfolds these characteristics therefore I considered to hold the event there.

Jason Eppink: "Surprise Surveillance Theater" | rebel:art - 2 views

  •
Das neue Projekt von Jason Eppink - inspiriert von den Surveillance Camera Players: "Surprise Surveillance Theater was an interactive theater experience, performed live for hundreds, unbeknownst to the unwitting stars of the show. It was part of the Lost Horizon Night Market, an extraordinary, modular, participatory art party that takes place in unmarked box trucks on low-traffic back streets in New York City. The goal was to take unwitting revelers and throw them into a narrative about a black market, requiring the target to pass secret notes, have rendezvous, wear a wire, and make a mystery delivery. All of this was watched by a live audience on more than a dozen TVs showing footage captured by strategically placed video cameras, but the scope of the experience was only revealed to the target at the very end when he or she delivered a secret package to the waiting audience." Transmedia. HTML5. Interactive storytelling. Mobile documentaries. These are the undeniable trends emerging from the storytelling world, and nonprofit organizations would be wise to take notice and hop on board. It's not just about the stand-alone video anymore-- it's about embedding your message into as many relevant platforms as possible. And if I were to venture a prediction myself, it's that tools like this will raise public awareness-- and public action-- to a whole new level.

The Rise of the Corporate Transmedia Storyteller - The Steve Rubel Stream - 1 views

  •
According to Google CEO Eric Schmidt, by the end of today the web will fill up with more information than what had existed in entirety prior to 2003. Much of this deluge is being created by ordinary netizens, rather than by corporations. The web has become a raging river filled with tweets, status updates, photos and videos.

Narrative film in urban design/planning - 0 views

  •
Discussion and examples for  the usage of narrative film in urban design/planning. I am looking for examples/case of narrative film being used to present urban design/planning. Specifically I am interested in examples, if there are, where stories about some personas'/characters' lives in the proposed urban area are used to illustrate future activities/structures. There are, of course, numerous examples of animations, 3D renderings and "fly over" ariels that display buildings, sometimes showing people. What I am looking for are examples where the persons everyday is used to tell the story of future urban development rather than when people are just part of presenting a building or an area. It is likely that the story is centering the person(s) rather than the area.

The Best of 'Wikipedia Names Your Band': Pics, Videos, Links, News - 0 views

Some truly brilliant work from BuzzFeed readers over this weekend in creating a couple of hundred totally convincing rock albums using the Wikipedia Album Generator. Objectively speaking, this may be one of the best things that has ever happened - I'm still checking back every hour or so to look at the new ones. Here are a few of my favorites so far. You can make your own to add to the collection here.

A very nice movie advert for an advertising agency. An old couple reminiscing about the good old times when they were still doing campaigns on long forgotten media such as Fakebook... (unfortunately for English (and German speakers) it is in Swiss German)

Why do we create stories? - 0 views

Storytelling is crucial to our individual, communal and cultural identity. Story is learning, celebrating, healing and remembering. It can mark a life, enrich individual emotional and cultural development and assist in making sense of our world
