"In response to the need to connect maker educators with one another and with the experiences of colleagues in their field, Maker Ed contracted with SRI International (SRI) in early 2016 to conduct research aimed at better understanding educators engaged in maker-centered learning communities, and to provide insight into promising approaches for professional learning. This work aims to support the development of robust supports for both formal and informal educators working in maker-centered learning environments."

This page makes it easy to find information and resources that are relevant to particular concepts, approaches and strategies. Each Collection is curated to serve a particular need and shares a set of resources pooled from The Learner's Way. In time this set of Collection will grow. In addition to articles from The Learner's Way you will be able to find resources designed to help you get started with the key concepts presented. The aim is to produce a set of resources which are readily accessible and of immediate benefit to classroom teachers and school leaders.

This year, in conjunction with October's Connected Educator Month, Common Sense Media is hosting Digital Citizenship Week from Oct. 21-25. Throughout the week, there will be a webinars and other ways for schools and educators to get involved. But really, now is the perfect time to discuss digital responsibility, safety and citizenship with students, and there are plenty of valuable events and resources that you can use. Here are six of my favorite:

ArcLessons is a resource for you to share lessons for using GIS in the classroom. You can browse a list of lessons by category or use the search tools to find lessons in your area of interest. You also can contribute your Lessons or LessonPaks to ArcLessons for other educators to use. "

Each module can be completed individually. Staff will demonstrate completion of each module through a Google Form. "
