Bug? Random sites bookmarked by diigo | Diigo - 0 views

  • bookmarks were saved only in del.icio.us and not in diigo. Or maybe a issue with the del.icio.us toolbar / buttons? Might only be an accidental activation as I don't use the del.icio.us buttons, except for opening the bookmark site itself. I somehow still think this might be my fault

I really miss my rich text formated sticky notes | Diigo - 0 views

  • Adding rich text support will make the toolbar more complex
    • Graham Perrin

WYSIWYG toolbar in the editing window need not be as complex as the toolbars in the mock-ups at http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/531 See suggestions at http://www.diigo.com/annotated/bd275badf20bce8bf709b39edb1a5cc9 The toolbar should include at least the hyper-link button/icon (to resolve angle bracket issues that cause loss of content), plus maybe the bulleted list button/icon. Other features such as font, font size, underline and paragraph alignment are less useful (debatably undesirable) in comments and sticky notes. Addition (upload) of graphics would be nice, if performance does not suffer.

Times Higher Education - Read it, like it, list it, share it - 0 views

  • The academic sites also have the added advantage that they can be used for online reference management
  • the RIN hopes to learn more about this through a study this year
  • tags such as, 'I don't like this' or 'This is useful for this course.'
    • Graham Perrin

Relevant to Diigo Community discussions of the value of tagging: the examples given here are not simple tags; these are examples of expressive _comments_.

Cache | Diigo - 0 views

  • Safari production does include highlights and annotations
  • Should Diigo cumulatively cache the content, and relate it to an annotation, _each_ time an annotation is made?
    • Graham Perrin

      I think not.
  • Diigo 3 Beta offers, I believe, a reasonable, well-considered balance: * one cached copy of the content of a URL * extraction of annotations for that URL.

System Services: Services Architecture - 0 views

  • Processor. This type of service acts on data.

http://www.diigo.com/tools?client=ff Diigo Toolbar 3.1.6.13 (for Firefox) has no processor services. However: the actions and products of this version of the Toolbar are comparable to such services.
  • Provider. This type of service gives data to the calling application.

Calling all Diigo users - 0 views

  • Diigo has long been a favorite tool of mine for bookmarking and collaboration. Diigo easily passes my criteria for adding a tool to my toolbox. The tools I use have to do a number of things beyond basic stability and usability: 1. Save time by automating manual stuff, or taking advantage of work I’m already doing. 2. The tool or mashup has to be easy and quick to use. One or two clicks, less than 30 seconds. 3. Foster real connection, collaboration and participation. Now Diigo has added another reason to love them, integration with Wordpress, (and other blogging platforms).

      Re http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/can-not-highlight-text-at-http-www-openlinksw-com-45734 I used Diigo 3.1.6.13 in Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042315 Firefox/3.0.10 to make a highlight then stick this note.
  •
A separate bug: highlights and sticky notes made using Diigo 3.1.6.13 in Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042315 Firefox/3.0.10 are not shown in Diigolet 3.1b523.
  •
Bug not limited to highlights and sticky notes; page comments made using Diigo 3.1.6.13 in Firefox are not visible in Diigolet 3.15b23.

In this example, a simple highlight is copied to a group — and changes from yellow to pink — when I stick this note and address it to a group.
  • you can not mix private and public notes on a single highlight
