I noticed that the advanced search has been removed. Is this only temporary or is this permanent? I liked this feature when the standard search needed some more fine-tuning to find what I was looking for (within my own bookmarks).

    I'm considering the highlights at
    http://www.diigo.com/04nok in particular

    > Search mine by fulltext

Was that option amongst the advanced search feature set? (I can't recall.)

There were a number of options for more refinded searches if the standard search did not provide the appropriate results. But it was only available for one's own bookmarks, so one had to switch to the "My Bookmarks only" tab. Then, the advanced search was available. It is referred to in those two threads for example:
    http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/excluding-tags-from-search-results-3976
    http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/how-do-i-search-for-bookmarks-with-tag1-or-tag2-or-tag3-5139

But now I can't see it anymore.

Thanks. I recall some other user(s) drawing attention to the feature(s). Sean Brady may have been the first in 'my time'.

The other feature that I can't find:

    > Full-text Search for Group Bookmarks and Forum

    http://blog.diigo.com/2007/08/02/full-text-search-support-for-group-bookmarks-and-forum/

I may be looking in the wronnnnng placesssss

Peter Pan: I am also not seeing the Advanced Search feature, but it does appear that you can still perform the searches by putting the identifiers directly in the search. For example, to find the word Consensus in your highlights you would type h:consensus into the search box. You can use a c: to search in your comments.

I'm also missing it. Hey Sean, what are the other identifiers? Is there a list of them posted somewhere? I haven't been able to find them.

Thanks for the advice, Sean. That is at least something - although in some cases not as convient as using the search fields of the advanced search.

Your welcome. I actually like this more, because it was kind of a PIA to get to the advanced search dialog anyway. I just got used to using the key shortcuts.

Cool, thanks Sean. Would you guys agree with the following... I'm guessing then that h: = highlights, c:=comments, a: = Anywhere, u: = url, t: = Title, t: = for text would be ???

I have used h: to search highlights and c: to search comments recently. Both worked as I would expect.

    UPDATE: FAITH RESTORED!

    Received this response from diigo:

    Hi Robert,
We stopped indexing new bookmarks to prepare a hardware upgrade.

Why advanced search has been removed?
  • Oliver S.

The "Advanced search" is back in Diigo v4.0. You can find it at:
    http://www.diigo.com/search_mana/advanced

You can also find a link to the "Advanced search" in Diigo after you selected one of the first three options under "Suggestions for further search". The second time "Suggestions for further search" is displayed, you will see a link to the "Advanced search".

P.S.: Besides, all "Advanced Search Operators" are nicely summarized here.
