    Hello,
the last two days I've added bookmarks to my lists as usual. However, I cannot search them using the regular diigo toolbar, but I can see that they have been added on the Most recent bookmarks.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

    Hi

Please, can you offer an example URL of a failing search?

    I read this topic alongside:

I simply cannot perform any search on my own bookmarks, whether using tool bar or directly on the web page. It shows no results whatever keywords I use.

    For example:

    http://www.diigo.com/search?adSScope=my&what=dvcs
    http://www.diigo.com/search?adSScope=my&what=guide

    @ Seth

If you are searching for a *tag*, then you may be bugged by the issue outlined at
    http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/9632

    Please try instead,
    http://www.diigo.com/user/Sethyuan/guide
    http://www.diigo.com/user/Sethyuan/dvcs
    http://www.diigo.com/user/Sethyuan/dvcs+mercurial

The My Bookmarks interface for filtering by tag is separate from the other search fields. Shift focus from the search fields, focus on the head of the My Bookmarks area, you should see:

My Bookmarks [filter by tags, space separated]

    Hi Graham,

Thanks for the quick response. However, my problem is not with tags. I know I can filter tags in "My Bookmarks" page as you mentioned, but what I want is to be able to search terms within bookmark's title, or bookmarked page's content, or its description. For example I have a bookmark with title "DVCS Myths", when I search "myth" or "myths" within my bookmarks, it shows no result.

So far, I'm not able to have any search results, no matter what terms I used in search.

BTW, I added all my bookmarks today, it's my first time trying Diigo, if that helps. So far, everything is great except Search. :(

    Yes, me too.

http://www.diigo.com/user/grahamperrin/Diigo+9723 focuses on a bookmark that I created around eleven hours ago. Title of the bookmark includes the word

    Concepts

Searching my bookmarks for that word
    http://www.diigo.com/search?adSScope=my&what=Concepts
    does not find the bookmark.

Today the problem still persists. I added www.vg.no to my public bookmarks just now and I got this annoted link. Not sure if you wanted this to testing?

    http://www.diigo.com/04neh

In this link I've added the following title:
VG Nett - Forsiden, test, vg

none of the terms in any searchbox or toolbar generates hits. I do get up the old bookmarks that are older than when I started this thread.

The add bookmark function managed to pull out info on existing bookmarks if I try to bookmark an already existing url, and the information gets updated, but not on new annotations (url's or what you call them)...

    Anyone?

    At your http://www.diigo.com/user/Netsrekruttering
in the line that follows the title of the bookmark

    > VG Nett - Forsiden, test, vg

please click the word 'cached'. Following your click, one of two things is likely:

    a) a Diigo-cached copy of the page will be presented

    b) a message will explain,

    > Cached page for this bookmark is not available at the moment, but
    > caching service will resume later to save this page. …

Which one happens: (a) or (b)?

    Thanks for your patience!

Option a) happens, but I still can't get new pages to be available for search even thought they get added.

    Guesswork continues below.

    http://www.diigo.com/04noo highlights include reference to

    >> special characters

    and then

    >> special contents which affect a javascript file.

    ---

http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/cached-pages-inconsistency-230 began and ended in 2007 with the subject line,

    >> Cached Pages - Inconsistency

then in December 2008 (whilst housekeeping) I added a comment
http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/cached-pages-inconsistency-230#12 concerning cache consistency (good at that time) and search results (not matching expectations). Of particular interest
http://www.diigo.com/04nok the highlights within that topic, which

    a) remind us that full text searches *should* include tags et cetera

    b) reveal a URL that was focus of discussion in July 2007, now (20th January 2009) I find no Diigo cache for that URL.

Speeding through the page to which that July 2007 now redirects,
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/scripting/javascriptlinedrawing.aspx I see plenty of code but maybe no 'special characters'. There are however snippet options:

    Collapse
    Expand code snippet
    Collapse code snippet

    ---

OK, now back to the www.vg.no domain.

http://www.vg.no/nyheter/utenriks/artikkel.php?artid=7739853 text appears fine at a glance in Safari 3.2.1 (5525.27.1) and Firefox 3.0.5 on Mac OS X 10.5.6 but the cached copy
    http://www.diigo.com/cached?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vg.no%2Fnyheter%2Futenriks%2Fartikkel.php%3Fartid%3D7739853
presents a number of question marks, for example:

    p?
    cached in lieu of

    For http://www.vg.no/nyheter/utenriks/artikkel.php?artid=7739853

    Firefox 3.0.5 error console offers,

Error: Permission denied to call method Location.toString

WebKit nightly error console offers greater detail, which I have pasted to

    As an experiment, please bookmark
    http://itmanagement.earthweb.com/osrc/article.php/3790086/The+Future+Facelift+of+OpenOffice.org.htm then:

    1. add a public page comment

    2. highlight some text within the page

    3. stick a public note to the highlight.

    A success, for me:
http://www.diigo.com/search?what=codeproject does find a page that I bookmarked
    36 minutes ago.

http://about.diigo.com/about/www.codeproject.com%2FKB%2Fscripting%2Fjavascriptlinedrawing.aspx suggests that I am the first user to bookmark this page.

http://www.diigo.com/cached?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.codeproject.com%2FKB%2Fscripting%2Fjavascriptlinedrawing.aspx at the time of writing states that the page is _not_ cached.

http://www.diigo.com/04np5 does present what is described as a cached copy.

    The bookmark is listed,
    http://www.diigo.com/list/grahamperrin/9723-9783 and a WebSlides view
http://slides.diigo.com/list/grahamperrin/9723-9783 does (again) present what is described as a cached copy.

My best guess now within this topic is that only certain pages, or certain types of content, are bugged.

It seems that the issue now is fixed. I don't know what has been done, but indexing now works and url's added in the non-working period since friday can also be searched and edited.

Thanks for your input Graham. :-)

We fixed some bugs in cache server and search server. Don't worry. Once your bookmark URL is in diigo system, we will try our best to fetch the cache page.
