What I noticed about, " Radio ... - Google Docs - 0 views

What I noticed about," Radio Rookies" is that it's very creative. I like the way Helen Peng, Andrea Lee Torres, Melissa Best and Alexis Gordon did this presentation. I like the way they made it fun and in the same time they made it very interesting. I really like the way they described the Steam Buns. I was very surprised the way they try to make it also. I like the way they made it though. It end it up coming the same way they make it in Main Street. And even though they may not be healthy, I mean lets face it it's really good. When Alexis said: "that it was very fun and easy doing this Steam Buns things" I really like the motivation because it shows how positive they were. I think that when they started talking about the guy in Main Street who was known as the Pimp. I was very surprised because I didn't know he died. Which was very surprising. I really like the way they worked as a team work and the way they understood their task. They all worked together and had a good presentation. I really like the way they all worked out perfectly. And the way they organize their ideas. To be honest it was a good job.

Early life on Earth may have developed more quickly than thought: U.S. research_English... - 0 views

  •
I'm learning about the earth right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is why is earth important to us? I was researching this question Online, and this Google news caught my attention because as we all know that earth is something that we need to take care of. As we know that supposely we are the ones that we are destroying the world with this whole smoke thing. I strongly believe that we need to take care of our world and protect it from danger things. In other words we are suppose to save the world. Cause it's said we are the ones that we destroy this world. "When water temperatures fall to below 163 degrees or so, close to the high temperatures previously hypothesized for the early ocean, communities of green photosynthetic bacteria begin to grow on the pool floor. These communities become thicker as water temperature continues to drop off away from the pool centers". According to the article. sometimes teperature is a cause that is affected. The quote that I chose here is basically saying that throughout the world things can change. But only if we help. I think that this earth situation is important to any one that cares about the earth. "Tice says the team examined rocks from the Buck Reef Chert in South Africa that are known to be about 3.4 billion years old, among the oldest ever discovered. They found features in them that are consistent with formation at water temperatures significantly lower than previous studies had suggested. "Our research shows that the water temperature 3.4 billion years ago was at most 105 degrees, and while that's potentially very warm, it's far below the temperatures of 155 degrees or more that previous research has implied," Tice explains. The research found that conditions were considerably cooler, probably by 50 degrees or even more. That means that conditions for life were much easier, and that life that did exist at the time was not under as much stress as previously believed. "

Medical Marijuana Laws Loosened at Federal Level - 0 views

  • President Obama has changed the policy that allows federal prosecutors to pursue those who sell and use medical marijuana, when the state laws permit. At present, only 14 U. S. states have legalized the medical use of marijuana - which means you need a prescription for it, and access to a pharmacy certified to dispense it. This does not relax the laws governing recreational use of pot, so don't head out to your greenhouse and start harvesting a little extra weed to sell, even in a state where medical marijuana is legal

Astronomers Start Search For Life Beyond Earth - The New York Times - 0 views

I'm learning more about extraterrestrial life right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: Is there life on Mars, or in space at all? I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because It discusses the search, and research processes of extraterrestrial hunts. "The search for evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence, commonly known by the acronym SETI, began at 3 P.M. today with simultaneous commands to computers and radio receivers here at the world's largest radiotelescope and at another big telescope in the Mojave Desert in California." The quote I chose here is basically saying that the search for extraterrestrial life has began. I think this is surprising because I already know that scientists had already began the "extraterrestrial hunt" but I never or hardly ever hear anything about their progression. After all the hoaxes, the little information dished out about Area 51, I don't know what to believe. I think this issues paranoia and conspiracy among me and countless other people. It really makes me wonder... nothing. It reinforces my stance on trust in the government.

2012: NASA's Scientific Reality Check | Universe Today - 0 views

I'm learning more about 2012 right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: Should we as a society, put our beliefs into Mayan predictions, or should we believe Scientists just because they have information to back up their facts?I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because it speaks about the reality of science and whether or not we should believe in it. It also speaks about the Mayan calender. This specific source sparked my interest because lately, with Hollywood coming out with new movies about 2012, the thought of the world coming to end has constantly been bothering me. I had a strong urge to find out the truth. "The Mayan calendar does not end in December 2012. Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period, but then - just as your calendar begins again on January 1 - another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar." The quote I chose here basically tries to persuade us by saying that the Mayan Calender ending on the year 2012 is a hoax. The author of this posts believes that even after the calender ends, just like any of the calenders that we have at home, it will start itself new again. I think this is very captivating because it makes me really wonder. It makes me wonder about all remarks people are making, what society thinks about this, and if there are any evidence that are being hidden from society. I hope as we go further into the years, scientists will dig out more information to support the theory so when the day comes, I won't have to hide under my bed and panic.

Ex-NFL player says league is ducking mounting toll of head trauma -- baltimoresun.com - 0 views

  •
I'm learning more about sports and head trauma right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is: Why are concussions not taken seriously in the NFL? I was researching this question, and this news item caught my attention because is addresses my question. The title brought me to it. "A doctor examined Stein on the sideline and told him he might have a concussion. As was the custom at the time, he asked if Stein wanted to return to the game; as was the custom, Stein said yes. He had no idea he had a skull fracture until 15 years later, when a sinus infection slipped through the break and morphed into a near-fatal case of spinal meningitis." The quote that I chose here is basically saying that a football player came to the sidelines with symptoms of a concussion. The medical trainer came and told him that he has one, then asked him if he wanted to go back into the game. I think this is ridiculous because If someone has a concussion, they should not be permitted to return to the playing field. It makes me wonder if the player had died how the trainer would have reacted. What if he had been questioned by the press on why he handled it that way.

I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because I was about how Spanish children learned English. "In one, English is spoken; in the other, Spanish. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Pledge of Allegiance and announcements are in Spanish; on the other days, in English. " The quote I chose here is basically saying the school is a bilingual school.

Search for Missing Metallica Fan Morgan Harrington Nets No Clues - Noisecreep - 0 views

  • Last week, Metallica's Kirk Hammett spoke about Harrington's case. "We are staying positive that she will be found soon," he said. "We are all hoping for the best and praying for her and her family. We all have children and as parents ourselves, it's our worst nightmare for a child to go out and not come back home. We empathize with that greatly, so we are doing what we can to help find her. We are staying positive."

I'm learning more about Metallica's murder case right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is what Metallica's feelings about this is. I was researching the status of this online, and this article caught my attention because it was the first link on Google News. The caption mentioned band member Kirk Hammett's opinion on the matter, so I clicked on it since I was curious to his particular thoughts, knowing Kirk Hammett to be a more softer soul in the heavy metal band. "Last week, Metallica's Kirk Hammett spoke about Harrington's case. "We are staying positive that she will be found soon," he said. "We are all hoping for the best and praying for her and her family. We all have children and as parents ourselves, it's our worst nightmare for a child to go out and not come back home. We empathize with that greatly, so we are doing what we can to help find her. We are staying positive." The quote I chose here is basically saying that Kirk Hammett fully understands the sadness that comes with a missing child, and that it's something everyone fears. However, Metallica is staying positive and optimistic that something positive will turn up.

I'm learning more about this incident now about the crisis of the band breaking up. I was researching this question online, and this article caught my attention because it explained what was going on between the two band members. "Aerosmith drummer Joe Perry has said the band "won't wait" for Steven Tyler to get back involved with the band after the singer stated that he's not leaving. Tyler joined Perry on stage recently to make the declaration following rumours that he had left the rockers. Now Perry has told Billboard that Tyler wanted a two-year break from the band - but he wants to keep going. The quote here I chose is basically saying that there is conflict between Tyler and Perry. Although it is not certain that Tyler will leave the band, the two seems to be losing what they once had as band members.

I am learning more about recycling right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is why people don't like to recycle. I was researching this question online, and this article caught my attention because it talks about how supermarkets have big responsibilities on this. "Of course it would be easy for stores to claim that in a recession they have had to put ecofriendly measures on hold to prevent passing costs on to consumers. As the Consumer Focus survey shows, however, more than half of shoppers are actively purchasing more environmentally responsible goods than they were two years ago. Over 70 per cent say they want help from their supermarkets in making better-informed choices."

Why do people get depressed? « Chaotic Soul - 1 views

  •
"Quarter Life. Obviously, 25 is a quarter of your life. It's the time when you thought of the things you've done, achieved, where you are right now, etc."
  •
My topic is Depression and what causes depression. If you think about it it's really a broad topic, their isn't ONE reason why people get depress; their's many. I wold like to say that the main reason for the cause of depression is love. Love can affect a person so much, look at Michael Jackson -God rest his soul. When you become depressed theirs millions of causes and here is one of them. I think that this quote can lead to depression because when you think about the last 25 years about you life it has it's ups and downs. Nothing is perfect and what it seems. Some people think about pasrt relationships and it really hurts them when they think or "relive" the moment in their minds. Some people can't handle the past because they didn't "achive" their goal or dream and that brings them down, so I see what this quote is trying to say. I like this quote a lot. It really makes you think about your past and where you are right now when it comes to money, family, and everything else. And yes money can make a peson depressed.
