TWC301: Multimedia Writing

I think this site is very good with it's direction as far as the flow of your paper and improving it. I like the fact of making sure the topic sentence is done correctly and that you actually have one. I also really like the list of transitional words at the end, I think I will print this off and keep it.

D#7, HW#6-- I thought this website was useful because it had a LOT of information about copyrights and the internet. It discusses plagiarism, how long copyrights last, and even what you can and can not do when creating a webpage. Great information to know for Project #2.

This web page does a great job at breaking it down simply. It explains what copyright is, how long it last, as well as what you can and cannot do with it. It specifically goes into what is copyrighted on the internet and what you can put on your page and what you cannot put on your page. This I believe would greatly benefit us for this class knowing what exactly we can and cannot do.

This website will tell you anything and everything that you need to know about copyright and the other parts that come with it. It gives you basics, how to get one, ownership's and licencing, fair use and public domain etc. 

This website provides a good explanation of the concepts : Copyright, Fair Use, and/or Creative Commons it gives good definitions of the concepts .

I enjoyed this website because it had a video and this helped me understand the concepts of Copyright, Fair Use, and Creative Commons.

This site is a great example of the design element flow and runs you through different ways of using flow to do different projects. It really gives you a great understanding of what flow really is and how to apply it to whatever your doing. 

This explains the 6 different types of licenses that can be obtained from Creative Commons and what they entail-very interesting.

This is written more in textbook form, but it gives samples and explains why flow is better in one design than another.

This is my favorite Fair Use resource because it gives a real life example of an Associated Press counsel member picking out sites that have used AP work without permission. It also talks a lot about how digital media has changed copyright.

This website gives some basic explanation of non-verbal language and the order of it (flow) and the importance of it in work

This book touches on the difference between fair use and creative commons. The author gives her opinion on whether fair use or creative commons is best. She believes that creative commons is more useful than fair use. 

This website provides information on Chapter 9 regarding fair use. It states the public is free to portions of material that is copyrighted for certain purposes. It also gives information for Chapter 7 for educational fair use guidelines.

DD7 HW6 Quiz your understanding of copyrighting. This site proposes many different scenerios to allow you to test your understanding of copyright, fair use and creative commons.

This book is helpful because it gives a general idea of copyright but also explains how fair use works. It explains how the laws of copyright work with fair use in news reporting, creative works, education, and others. This book also deals with getting permission which can be helpful to authors.

This is just a timeline of the inventors of photography, and I think it's relevant because if you look - everything is so spread apart. It took YEARS to do, and now with our computer technology, the iPhone comes out with a new model every 6 months!! New editions of cameras and computers are released regularly!

This article discusses new media vs. old media highlighting the key differences between blogs and social media and the traditional press.

This is an article providing statistics on how new media is weighing out old, traditional forms of media in society. (2010) Twitter, youtube and blogging are taking over traditional press such as newspapers.

This article (full in PDF) is similar to Manovich in where he questions how new media no longer television, it's basically computers. And the differences between the old and new media.

This explains fair use in further detail. It also includes the "fair use four-factor test" where it lists what the courts consider when evaluating what is fair use of a copyright document.

I really like this article because it gives a clear definition of flow. It also provides some great examples of flow in addition to those already listed in the textbook. 

This website explains about the United States copyright laws.

First of all, the government copyright site. How could you go wrong? You can find almost anything you could ever need in reference to copyrights on this site.

This page contains a lot of the very in depth and complicated world of copy right laws. There is so much information that I couldn't really seem to find the end of it. However, some interesting information that  I found was the copyright basics with is a pdf form that breaks down the background of copy right laws. Which is quite in depth.
