How to Write Instructions (with pictures) - wikiHow - 0 views

    • Franz Ferguson

Who knew writing instructions for instructions would be so technical. This page is one that has made it pretty simple however it doesn't provide many examples.
    • Franz Ferguson

This is a new step, but I believe it makes a lot of sense to include it. I don't know why other authors havent thought about it.
  • A set of instructions should help a reader accomplish a task quickly, efficiently and successfully.
  • ...6 more annotations...
  • Observe someone performing a task.
  • Stop after each step and record every detail.
  • Address the reader using "you" or "your."
  • Begin a sentence with a verb. Limit each step to one main idea.
  • Keep sentences short and simple
  • Revise again.
  •
i think this will help me because its very clear on what details to pay attention when making instructions.
  •
Wikihow offers a lot of easy to understand information. This page shows me a step by step way of writing a turtorial and also how to include pictures.
  •
To write instructions we have to know our audience, Write each step, observe someone performing a task, stop after each step, revise and try to record every detail.  This page is simple giving out a list of how to record a set of instructions although it does not have a lot of examples.

D#1, HW#1 Strategic Design: 6 Steps For Building Successful Websites - Smashing Magazine - 0 views

  •
This website focuses more on building a design for a successful website, but it's another example of using the same strategic steps in chapter one of "Basic of Design". I especially am drawn to the second step of this website "Identify your audience". Nowadays new technology being introduced to a variety of generations can be somewhat tricky. The fact that they mentioned "technical competency" as a consideration, gives a better understanding of who you will be dealing with and what levels of technology to consider.

  •
This website goes into detail about the process of laying out projects, such as in this case brochures for your business or hotel maybe. The website goes into detail about what you can do to keep the readers attention in the page and what you have to say by appearance and how things are laid out and grouped together. In any design process this is the most important part because you must figure out how to capture the readers attention as well as maintain their attention. This website does a wonderful job at taking you through that process step by step.

D #1 HW #13 Draw A Thumbnail Sketch - 0 views

This site offers a step-by-step process of generating thumbnail sketches. The author of this site echoes the textbook's stress on the importance of this seemingly insignificant step. It can be a real time saver to help develop a composition from its earliest conception when my ideas are still a little fuzzy.
