Missing texture file - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
"Error looks like a sound asset. Some sound assets have a WAVE.TEXTURE image file, Trainz doesn't like these anymore, best fix is get PEV's Texture2TGA and when the item is Open for Edit, use the program mentioned to convert the WAVE.TEXTURE file to WAVE.TEXTURE.TXT and WAVE.TGA files. Then you can delete the WAVE.TEXTURE file and Commit fine. If you don't have it, search the web for PEV Testure2TGA you should find the site with it and other Trainz tools. "

Track Priority - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
There is a script called "priorityz" (search for "smileyman") which allows you to change the train priority en-route (suppose you have a semi-fast service, non-stop to the first station taking the fast line (priority "1") , then calling on the slow line at all stations to the Terminus (priority "2") then proceeding to the yard for disposal (priority "3") Of course, "priorityz" is also useful if you forgot to assign a priority in Surveyor and you're stuck with the default "2"! Priorityz will let you change the priority at will. Hope that helps! Ian

Why not boot up Google Earth and try the first bit. Zoom into the start of your area at 500m and then place a placemark, and name it "1", hit CTRL+S to save the current screen, and then hit ALT+CTRL+S to save the Placemark. That part of the task takes 10-20 seconds, so it's not too bad. The next part of the stage you'd need to purchase TransDem. In TransDem you'd then hit: SHIFT+O (Load the Google Earth image) - couple of seconds ALT+R ( Load the Google Earth placemark) - couple of seconds SHIFT+U ( Convert to UTM) - between 5 and 10 seconds to complete ALT+S (Saves 2 files that TransDem uses in the final stage when it creates your route in Trainz) - couple of seconds As you can see, converting to UTM takes the longest, and when you have a load of them to do, that's the one that becomes the bottle-neck. I did all the Google Earth stuff first and only when I had all the pictures and placemarks I needed did I start the TransDem part. You can get free Dem data from http://netgis.geo.uw.edu.pl/srtm/Europe/ If the site is down, try searching on Google for "srtm dem" and you should find a link to the official Nasa site for Dem. Have fun. Smiley.

Copying and pasting the PATH of AI trainz? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Search for "copy" on the DLS and you find the Copy Commands From (KUID2:192081:1:6). Search for "schedule" and you will find the Schedule Library (KUID2:192081:12:4) along with a few others that may interest you. Make sure that TRS2004 is ticked under the Trainz Versions. Hope that is what you were looking for.
  • For those interested, I downloaded "Copy Commands From" and "Schedule Library" from the Download Station into TRS2009. In Surveyor, open "Edit Sessions Rules" (top left of screen, looks like #), select "Driver Command" from the menu, then Edit. Place a tick against "Copy Commands From". Close this menu. Now click "Add", and add "Schedule Library". Select this and set up the path as as for a normal portal. Give it a name, eg Path1 I'm using Central Portal Control (because it will emit a consist immediately). Open Central Portal Control. Add a consist and driver. Now for the path select Copy Command/Insert/from Library/Path1. Repeat for other consists from this portal. Easy !~! The same procedure can be used for a portal (Surveyor, "?", click on portal) if Central Portal Control is not used. Thanks again. Phil

New route - Downtown Traction Company - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • -EDIT-- It's freeware from Trainz Eastern routes on the Youngstown Southern Railway Page. The page wasn't available when I tried just now, so I hope that the locomotive still is available.
  • I currently have 2 F30's released, and series of F22 flat cars. here's some links CR F30-a PRR F22's PRR F30-a There's not much good 1950's era content out. That i know of. but if u search majekear on the DLS u should be able to find a good amount of 40ft boxcars with animated doors and hopper cars.
  • Nice, but those overhead wires look a bit too modern. Search on the DLS under the user names jaleel or motorman1066 for some more appropriate ones.

where to take lumber - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • You could also use the BI Lumber Unload Dock, Kuid 128094:27003, by Rdelinsky. Jkerlee has the Lumber Warehouse, kuid 35815:26206. Tafweb has two versions of Factory_8_Gengoods, one with snow (1942:27029) and one without (1942:27019). These accept lumber and produce general goods. I use them myself. These are all TRS04 assets, so make sure the filter is set to find them. If you do a search for the subject Lumber you'll find several other toys you may find useful. Claude

Tips and Tricks-Surveyor - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Here is a tip for moving Track marks. If you want to move track marks beyond spline points, use the move function for track objects (i.e. signals etc.) it works on track marks of all kinds. cheers, andyz
  • In the above image, you can see the result. The fill under the two tracks in the backgound is part of the track and was not added after the fact. It bridges the dip in the ground very nicely. Search for "1t spoordijk grind MRT" or 70337:38035 to try it

Yard Problem - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Have you tried this template? http://members.westnet.com.au/nightc...template01.jpg Do a search on the DLS for CS_Yard and you will find it, CS_Yard Template_1 (KUID: 37522:9972). Lay your track along the template, then use the "straighten track" tool on the section in yellow sections like so, you will end up with this... http://members.westnet.com.au/nightc...template02.jpg I use this one all the time to create yards.

Industry Training Session? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I suggest the first thing you do is to search on the Download Station for "Products". When you do this you will find heaps of different things that can be carried. At the same time you will find a lot of "Industry Tracks" available as well.
  • Another suggestion I would make is that when you are building a route, add a spare baseboard to it. On this place some tracks that you can put your choices on and you can also place buildings etc so that you can just go there and click on the item with the get selection in the flyout and you have your modified unit to place at other spots. I found the best way is to just try things out, if it works ok then keep a noteboke and jot it down for future reference.
  • For example using a built-in industry, the coal mine. I create a consist of different hoppers that can carry coal on a empty track. Then using the Get Consist button in Consist mode, I save the consist as Auran Coal Mine - Coal. This gives me a ready made consist to place on any route
