Trigger Multiple Signals - How? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • You only need one rule and can set up multiple signals on one trigger in a single set up. In a session set up all the rules etc place a single engine and save the session as map rules. everytime you want to do a new session with the same rules you just open map rules place your consists and save as a different name. This means you wont have to keep setting up the rules everytime. __________________

trigger rule for junction switch - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
a session contains all trains and industry instructions etc. If you open the route only as long as you do not delete, rename or alter a sequence that the session uses it will be fine. You can add scenery, texture, create new areas of the route and save. the session will still work. Open your existing session then save it as a different name (Default rule). Now delete all the trains and you are left with only the rules you set up. Save this as the default rule session. When you open this next time all the rules you set up are ready to go without having to redo them, just add trains for a new session and save under a different name in order that the default rule session is not altered. Uploading the route and the default rule session gives everyone the basic setup __________________ http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php...textsearchID=1

PLEASE HELP, MANY QUESTIONS!!! - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
Go into the rules for your session, and in the driver commands rule, tick the "Uncouplez From" order. This allows you to specify how many vehicles back from the loco to make the cut, and doesn't require that the order is given when the train is in the relevant formation, unlike "uncouple". HTH

Single line running token rule?? - Page 2 - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • under TRS04 and 06 , I often use 'ControlDiamCross' <kuid:131986:1036> as a Block Token, the train takes the 'token' and conflicting signals are set to red so preventing AI from entering the single line, once the train has passed the exit trackmark, it releases the 'token' and allows the next train to take possesion of the 'token' and proceed onto the single line. The request for the token can be achieved automatically by using the 'Schedule at trackmark' rule <kuid2:61392:2001:4>. This rule can insert the command to ask for the 'token' when passing a specific trackmark, before proceeding with next command. Another possibility is the 'Path' rule which can exclusively set the entry and exit of the single line and in doing so, automatically block AI until the path is free again.

Help on driver setup please (basic 101?) - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I finally got back to this one. Here's what I did, you can adapt it to your requirements. BTW this is in TRS2004 but all later versions should be identical or very similar. Layout: One baseboard, one straight track. In order: Where the loco starts Trigger TR1 Trackmark TM1 Trackmark TM2 Trackmark TM3 (It helps to put a building alongside each trigger/trackmark so you know where they are when driving) Place a loco at the starting position The objective is to make the loco drive to TM1, then drive back and forth between TM2 and TM3 forever. Rules (where each > represents one level of indent): Startup options - as normal Driver Setup - Drive to TM1 Driver Command - as normal Trigger Rule - Trigger TR1 > Ordered List - This process will be repeated 1 time > > Driver Setup - Drive to TM2, Drive to TM3, Repeat I hope you can copy this and get it going, and that it's of some help to you. I find one of the trickiest things is to keep the difference between Rules and Driver Commands clear in my head. John

Single line running token rule?? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
This is an old request. On the old forum i did a single route with twenty trains running around and around without conflicts. The easiest rule is not to put signals on the single track. Put a signal at the end of the loop before the train re-enters the single line. Set the junctions for trains to enter the loop in the direction of travel. UK Sample train drives along single track (no signals) the junction lever was set left at default so train enters left loop and encounters signal at end of loop. If another train is between that signal and the next, the signal will remain red until the train ahead clears the next signal or an oncoming train enters the other loop. __________________ http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php...textsearchID=1

Saving trackmark sequences? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • In the schedule Library rule you give a name to the first schedule then place all the driver commands for that section of the route you want it to take. This includes all industry or stations plus trackmarks. (Make sure you have the drive via or drive to trackmark commands ticked in the driver command rule) Select the next/add schedule give it another name etc etc. One of the driver commands is copy commands from. Place this in your selected train, even ones created in a portal, and you will get a second menu appear with amend or insert. Highlight one and another screen appears which you select to copy from another train or from the library. Pick Library and you get a list of all the routes you put into it. When AI gets this command he will then follow the route in the library.

more realistic AI-driver attitude - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • more realistic AI-driver attitude I would like to see (as an update to all Trainz-Versions or at least as part of any new Trainz-Version) more realistic artifical inteligenced drivers in Trainz.
  • As for the "Ball and Flag" system given in this and another thread, we have the "Wait for Trigger..." driver command, which, I admit, is hidden by default. Go into the driver commands rule to make it visible. With enough forethought, it behaves in exactly the same way, Just on triggers and has to be inserted for every driver using that single track. Though that only works with AI. Us humans have the layout map. Having these automated systems would be a help, but there are already driver commands that work the same way.
  • I agree that the shortest route thing is annoying as well. I've gotten around it by by placing a trackmark on the main track, and I use that when I'm programming the drivers. Another thing I've done is to place a freight car or two on the sidings to force the AI to take the mainline instead of driving through the yard. I agree with Stefan. The routing should be based on locale rather than built-in short-distance seeking algorithms, which I think cause a lot of overhead on the program because the AI system is constantly seeking for an open path. John
  • ...2 more annotations...
  • Similarly the idea of operating a train through a series of switch backs, switching industries, or turning a locomotive on a Wye (all referred to in item 4 in Stefan's original post) can be handled by way of trackmarks. In the case of a switchbacks, simply put a trackmark at each deadend point, so that setting up an AI driver on route with switchbacks becomes "drive to trackmarK 1" followed by "Drive to Trackmark 2", &c. Same way for industry switching and turning trains: assigning trackmarks allows for the dispatcher to provide directions to AI drivers to Drive to the Trackmark for Stefan's Warehouse and uncouple car 123456" then Driver to Trackmark for JCitron's warehouse via trackmark 3, and uncouple car 125789."
  • That remote control system (changing a junction from three miles away) can already be done with triggers or trackmarks (depending on which rule you use).

random portal train selection - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Well yes. Central Portal Control lets the portal select a consist at random from a list that you provide when setting up the portal instructions. It will also emit in sequence if you so desire.
  • Likewise Portal Basic - default 'Emit Train' condition is a random train from an inputed list.
  • I use Portal Timetable Rule KUID2: 61392:2002:1
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • Both Portal Control options work well. You can make life much easier by also using the Schedule Library available from the JS Trainz Rules Factory (among many other very useful utilities). The Library enables schedules or part schedules to be named, saved and recalled. Saving much tedious repetition in setting up individual train schedules. Chris

Portals puzzle - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • The alternative (if you must have that particular make up of train) is to investigate the rules that are available on the DLS. If I remember correctly, either the Central Portal Control (CPC) or UnPortal Rule can create a train at a trackmark without using a portal.

if you get this far you might want to check out posts by segy, who's worked out how to get 100 trains out of portals to a timetable using SCS2006 (Scenario Creation System) and "un-portal" rule. I'm still figuring this one out! HTH

Need help with understanding signalling. - Page 2 - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  •
I think you can define blocks as between signals, as Frosty90 does in her/his reply. But the turnouts do have some sort of overriding function if they have, as they should, a signal protecting the opposite direction of travel. This feature sometimes, but not with all consists, holds following trains at a red until the consist in front has cleared the "opposite direction" signal at the next turnout, even if that is miles down the track. I have found the only reliable solution is to take away the "opposite direction" signal. But, of course, you can't do that if you have a loop, as in this query, or you want two-way working. Somebody, somewhere, must know the rules that are programmed in (TRS04). I am going only from reading the manual, the forum and experimenting.

Editing the Driver schedule while in session - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I have setup one of my AI drivers to drive a schedule which consists on "coupling" to freight car and then driving to the freight car then hauling to to unload and then i have it set to repeat. My question: Is there away or a rule to remove the "couple" command from the schedule during the session., besides doing it manually?
  • I would set up in the schedule library two sets of commands: the first with the couple/uncouple command and the second one omitting it. Use the 'copy commands from' and insert the first library command, then 'enable repeat' and then finally the second library command. What this does is the first time the train will perform the couple/uncouple action and then in the future repeats of the route this action will not be performed.

Surveyor mode giving commands to drivers in "edit session rules" - Trainz Discussion Fo... - 0 views

  • Yup use "Path Command" with "Drive to" and that most excellent "Trainz Schedule Library" you can't go far wrong. Takes a bit of time to set up but once done it only takes one click to give a Drive a whole complicated route.
  • drive to and drive via will not work with select part you have to autodrive or TPR drive hope this helps

Is there a way to repeat a routine/trip an N number of times? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • You want the copy commands from and the schedule library rule kuid2:192081:1:6 and kuid2:192081:12:4 Place the tasks you want repeated in the library and use the copy command to call up the task in driver set up __________________
