This project aims to promote U.S. national interests through the development of stronger support among the people of Panama. Ideal partners include organizations that are familiar with U.S.-Panamanian history that can demonstrate the ability to produce high-quality results that will reach a large audience.
Project Description:
This project will identify and carry out strategies to highlight the shared history between the United States and Panama, ideally through the installation of physical markers, signs, or plaques at locations of significance to U.S.-Panamanian history in Panama City and/or throughout the country. The project will produce a brochure-style guide map or series of maps featuring the important U.S.-Panamanian historical sites in the country/city. The project will facilitate wide distribution of the materials to the general public in order to educate Panamanian residents on this shared history.
Grant funding may be used for all program expenses, including but not limited to design, installation, and printing of markers and brochures, and related personnel costs, within policy limits.

The Bureau of International Labor Affairs, U.S. Department of Labor announces the availability of approximately $4 million total costs for one cooperative agreement to fund a technical assistance project in Colombia to improve compliance with Colombia's labor laws and relevant labor standards. The objective of this project is the improved ability of workers in priority sectors of Colombia to understand and exercise their labor rights. The strategy for achieving the project objective is creating worker-driven labor law enforcement centers that will effectively reach workers, educate them on their rights, train them to identify potential labor law violations in workplaces, and then assist workers to submit and track well-supported, well-articulated, justiciable claims to initiate labor inspections and pursue legal remedies. If labor law enforcement centers are able to submit well-supported and well-articulated claims, then the labor ministry and other relevant government agencies will be able to address labor rights violations more effectively and improve compliance with Colombia's labor laws and relevant labor standards. The project must target workers in priority sectors, specifically rural workers in the palm oil, sugar, and mine sectors and workers in the port and cut-flower sectors.
The goal of the Agriculture Growing Rural Opportunities (AGRO) Activity in Ukraine is to accelerate economic development of rural Ukrainian communities with the greatest need in through a better governed agricultural sector, to encourage more productive, modern, and profitable small and medium agricultural businesses that are successfully integrated into competitive markets both in Ukraine and internationally.

Through fellowships to published translators, the National Endowment for the Arts (Arts Endowment) supports projects for the translation of specific works of prose, poetry, or drama from other languages into English. The work to be translated should be of interest for its literary excellence and value.
