Conclusions
Fatty acid intake may affect the risk of community-acquired pneumonia in young and middle-aged women. Higher dietary intake of palmitic acid and possibly DHA and EPA may increase the risk of community-acquired pneumonia in women while higher oleic acid intake may decrease the risk.

Insights From the ARIC (Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities) Study
Yang EY et al.
J Am Coll Cardiol, 2009; 54:2388-2395,
doi:10.1016/j.jacc.2009.10.006
Conclusions: ARIC participants with elevated hs-CRP and low LDL-C had a CVD event rate of 1.57% per year over 6.9 years, similar to the CVD event rate noted in the JUPITER study placebo group (1.36% per year over 1.9 years). The association of hs-CRP ≥2.0 mg/l with increased CVD risk and mortality regardless of LDL-C provides us a simple method of using age and hs-CRP level for identifying higher risk individuals. So, what's in your water? It's the million dollar question as it relates chemicals commonly found in drinking water supplies. Many of these chemicals are introduced to water supplies by man in order to help purify water supplies. Some minerals and chemicals are natural to water supplies, depending of the region in which your home/well is located. We review each chemical, the purpose it serves, and the danger it poses.

"The clinical potential for a liver-protective supplement in cancer care is significant, as I've observed in many years of integrative medical practice," writes Dr. Keith Block, ICT editor. "Several chemotherapy drugs, as well as many of the other drugs cancer patients take, have extremely problematic liver toxicities. With this exclusive edition, the scientific community will have a resource to guide and inspire further research on this very interesting herbal medicine."
