Resource for UF Masters in Music Education. I love this resource primarily for the fun and interactive nature that the games provide to my classroom. There are plenty of resources such as lessons, pre-made assessment, and videos. However, the games allow students to enjoy learning through assessment and interactive scenarios.

This website is a great resource for beginning to integrate technology into your classroom. There are ready-made lesson plans, as well as fun activities to do with your students. There are worksheets on theory, lessons on piano, and so much more.

A band director friend of mine told me about this site last summer.  There is a password, which is:  Grainger The Band Director Posthaven began with the Band Director Facebook page and the originator of the page, Brian Wis, wanted a place to share files with other band directors. This is a great resource in which band directors share files and other resources to assist the daily needs of a band director.  These files include posters, music (warm-ups, chorales, technique builders, curriculum guides, recruit tools and ideas, rubrics, music appreciation activities, band room rule/policies, how to deal with administrators, and more).  With the resources being submitted by band directors, this is a great source for new band directors and band directors at new schools.   I have used this site to find pitch tendency charts, scale sheets, and three excellent warm-ups.  You can spend hours upon hours searching this site.  Most of the files are PDFs which allows to open and print form any computer with a PDF reader.  There are some Microsoft Office documents which can be a problem.  Be mindful that some of the music repertoire may needs some adjustments for your ensembles needs or you have to add instruments to the instrumentation (missing Baritone TC, Oboe, Bassoon, or Baritone Sax parts)

This is a site that I use frequently. Not only does the site provide useful information regarding musical ensembles and private instructors for those who live within the institute's service region, but it also serves as a resource for videos and recordings of professional clarinet players students may use as models. Furthermore, the site contains a variety of sheet music for all band and orchestra instruments. Sheet music may be downloaded from the site, or entire libraries may be purchased on a CD containing pdf files. This site makes access to solo and other forms of music literature a breeze!

This is a famous popular website and also app, that i use to teach my private students. This is a great way to practice reading music, ear training and knowing knowledge of different type of topics in music theory. This website and app has definitely made me a stronger musician through my undergraduate years. Wynn Literature is a site I found a few years ago as I was looking for music for my high school Intermediate Band to play for the Georgia Music Educators Association's Large Group Performance Evaluation (concert festival). The band I had one year was unprepared to play most Grade 4 Literature and I needed help choosing Grade 2 or 3 pieces. Wynn created this list of compositions that are on the GMEA LGPE required list. It is important to double check the most current LGPE list as the list is updated yearly. The compositions are written by composers whose works have been deemed to be "Contemporary Concert Band Standards" as they have the best mix of challenging the students as well as entertaining. Some of the composers include James Swearingen, Quincy Hilliard Robert W. Smith, David R. Holsinger, and James Curnow just to name a few. The site has changed a lot since I originally found it. You were able to click on the individual compositions to get more information about the piece such as key signature, meter, performance ranges for most of the instruments, technical issues that may occur (difficult rhythms or harmonies), background on the composer and historical perspective of the composition. Since the site's links do not work anymore, WynnLiterature is a great starting point to search for literature to play at the middle school level as well as the lower/developmental bands in high school.

Amazing resource for lesson plans, worksheets, and games to teach students about a wide variety of music topics. This website would be great for creating lesson plans for subs and would also be a great resource if you can't find printed worksheets that address theory. The games are also fun and educational, asking students to identify instruments, tempos, etc. and can act as quizzes that can be scored and printed out. Great resource!

Music Tech Teacher is an open resource offered by Karen Garrett as an extension of her own music classes she had previously been teaching. Ms. Garrett offers free lessons, worksheets and assessments that can be downloaded as .pdfs and used by any teachers looking for materials that could be used within their own classrooms. Ms. Garrett's resources also have a strong focus on teachers looking to specifically make use of technology in their classes.

This site contains an audio example along with a viewable example of the lead sheet (in most cases). This is a fantastic resource for jazz students.

The purpose of this website is to provide a list of free jazz sheet music in the keys of Bb, Eb, and bass clef from the "Real Book". The content lists songs from A to Z which provide an audio recording link for each without any ads. Students can use this site to play along with the sheet music and accompaniment provided. It would make a great practice tool in addition to method book material for students of all ages. The author of the site also promotes a "my music apps" page for beginner and experienced musicians.

This site includes scale sheets, rhythm charts and bowing examples for orchestra students and teachers.  I have used this site with my school students and private students.

This string specific website has lots of great resources for working on different skill-sets. I particularly like this for the finger pattern exercises and rhythmic reading tunes. This helps to work on rhythm, intonation, sight-reading, and scale work.

This website is a comprehensive resource for string teachers which includes etudes, scale sheets, bowing resources, and more. Many resources are available for printing and sharing directly with students.

Choralnet.org is a site specifically geared towards chorus directors and teachers of vocal music. The site contains blogposts, open discussion forums and links to various online resources such as teaching materials and concert repertoire. The purpose of the site is to serve as a platform for chorus directors to share ideas with one another or use it to seek advice or help from other experienced educators.

This is by far my most utilized music technology site. Arizona has a great history of producing wonderful all state choirs. Within this site you can access the past 20 years of sight reading materials. This includes both block and contrapuntal and sight reading lines. I use this site on a daily basis to prepare my students for these auditions.

A wonderful site to get students into jazz. This site has a load of jazz resources from ear training to lead sheets to history. Amazing site. Fun to explore and read into.

The purpose of this site is to help students improve their knowledge of music theory and keyboard skills. I have used this site when I was teaching middle school choir and band. The site features both lessons to explain new content, as well as exercises to practice and deepen knowledge. I think this would be a great tool to implement in the classroom especially with the use of SMARTboard technology.

The purpose of the site is to provide lessons, tips, recordings, and newsletters for trombonists as well as other brass instrumentalists. The site also contains a variety of recordings by trombone soloists, jazz bands, and trombone quartets. The site could serve as a resource for students seeking professional recordings as well as instructional information.
