She also provides free resources downloadable from her blog, as well as other low cost resources she's created available for purchase through Teachers Pay Teachers.     Mrs. Miracle's website is a very well-laid out website which could serve as a template for a teacher looking to do a similar website. She has a podcast, a way to be contacted for teacher interactions, a link to a store where teachers share materials, and informative posts with teaching ideas. Most ideas are geared toward the third-grade level.

In about 3 minutes time I was able to locate about a half dozen pieces that I've been looking for at some point or another since I started teaching. I think there are resources that every band director could use here.

    This is another invaluable resource of Public Domain compositions for the Band World. So many of the old marches and waltzes are out of print and difficult to come by, but this website has an extensive list of great works that are all public domain.     Making Music Fun is a great website for resources for music educators. There are tons of theory worksheets (some more appropriate for elementary school students), lessons, composer biographies and worksheets, and activities for the music classroom. There is also a library of piano music that is well-written for beginners and available in a variety of levels. Some features over the years now require purchase, but there are still tons of resources available for free.

    As a beginning band teacher, this program is incredibly valuable. Be Part of the Band is a fantastic resource to aide music educators in the recruitment process. The program offers high quality tools to help attract as many students to the band program as possible. Proper recruitment is crucial to the success of a program but is sometimes overlooked, and this program has a variety of ways to help bridge the gap between participating and non-participating students. On top of everything, the resources on this website are completely free of charge.

This website provides free resources for both recruitment and organization for bands. Individuals are able to make donations to the program, but no payment is required. Beapartoftheband.com not only provides demonstration videos for each instrument, the site also provides eighteen documents to assist with the recruitment process.

    Band recruitment is the biggest event in the life of a band director.  This site features high quality tools to help make our lives easier. It also features famous people that have been band members.  Students need to relate to the bigger picture sometimes.  They need to see that big athletic stars can be in the band as well.  I am always looking for new perspective to recruitment.
