The purpose of this resource is to provide Wisconsin educators will tools and professional development in the state. These tools focus on the iListen project, CMP, and professional development opportunities across the state. WMEA is an advocate for all Wisconsin music educators regardless of affiliation or membership.

New Horizons is a network of music education programs for adults. New Horizons advocates for participatory music opportunities for adults who either had little or no music education in their younger years or have had little connection to music making since their school years. New Horizons groups are independently run organizations in the United States and many foreign countries. The first New Horizons group was started by Dr. Roy Ernst at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester.

This is a great way to practice reading music, ear training and knowing knowledge of different type of topics in music theory. This website and app has definitely made me a stronger musician through my undergraduate years. The NAfME My Classroom website is an excellent resource for music educators. It provides links to journals, advocacy resources, professional development, and standards-based lesson plans. The lessons plan page offers both plans submitted by other educators and strategies for meeting the arts standards. By using the search tool, teachers can find lessons pertaining to a wide range of music content and age groups.

A great article showing how to take a well known tune and teach students how to compose their own melody. The article goes through the process of how to teach it. First you help students to write a base line, have them improvise a rhythm, then they can discover the notes of each chord, and write their own melody using chord tones.
