Has a funky graphic interface connected to different types of resources to do with digital history. From what I can tell this is a bit of a buzzword (term?): 'digital history'. It seems if you're doing anything educational online put 'digital' in front of it and you're in the 21st century. Simple, really...

They are mainly aimed at university students, researchers and librarians but many of the online archives are open to anyone. The collections cover areas such as history, social sciences, or science and engineering and include, for example, journals, newspapers and images.'

"This teaching resource includes digitized selections from the Cameron Family Papers extracted from the Southern Historical Collection at UNC-Chapel Hill. The resource is designed for non-commercial use by educators and students interested in themes associated with antebellum plantation life. The original Cameron Family Papers (1757-1978) include some 35,000 undigitized items available for public perusal in the university's Wilson Library. This web resource presents only a small fraction of the total available documents, as identified and digitized by the site designers to best represent themes associated with traditionally underrepresented persons on antebellum plantations, namely slaves, women, and children. The Camerons regularly communicated by post with their family, friends, and business associates (overseers, tradespersons, and merchants). The level of detail provided in their personal communication provides a rich context for the study of antebellum plantation life in the southern United States. Site users may either search for letters related to a particular theme, or browse available letters using the index of letters page. All letters have been tagged by subject/theme. Letters are available in Macromedia Flashpaper format (.swf). Users may choose to view the original source letter, a typed transcription of the original text (easier to read), or both. The transcription is recommended to teachers and students with limited time, given the difficulty in deciphering original text. "

This site has pages on historical topics containing secondary and primary source information. It's probably more suitable for junior classes than senior research, although it does have excerpts from contemporaneous texts.

Hi, Lindsay, I am so sorry this took so long to get to you, I've been up to my ears in work and other stuff. I just couldn't steal the five minutes to write to you. Sad, I know. :) Ryan was my protege and he's such a great guy! He's talked about you and Morristown H.S. and what a great place it is. I went to Randolph and all of my relatives on my Mom's side graduated from Morristown H.S. starting back in the 1930s! Lots of history there, and I love Morristown! When I get permission to do pilot testing I will ask if we can send you the link and let you try stuff out there and give us feedback. Also, if you ever want to come to Central and see what we're up to just ask!

I hadn't realised how much full text stuff is available from ERIC otherwise I would have added it sooner. Just do a full-text advanced search for 'history' and Bob's your uncle. It's always good to know what the smart people are saying we should be doing. I don't know about you though, but sometimes those smart people strike me as a little stupid...
