Why relevant and summary: This article discusses the importance of friendship during early childhood and middlechildhood. It discusses some of the factors that allows a child to keep a friend and the possible outcomes when a child is rejected. This article also discussed that it is imperative that a parent understand when a child is lonely or just simply wants to be alone. How this influenced my thinking: I found it interesting that like adults children need their alone time. I never realized the importance of them being able to play by themself and if a parent is too pushy that it could cause them to withdraw. Credibility of Source: Article was published by a Dr.

Title: Kohlberg Author: Saul McLeod Date Published: 2011 Why relevant/summary: This goes over the different levels and stages of kohlberg's moral reasoning theory. Explains an exaple he used for determining moral reasoning (Heinz question). How this influenced my thinking: This further explained what each stage resembles morally. this showed me one of the examples from his research, and how each group resoinded to it. this gave me firther depth into the stages. (at least from another perspective) Credibility: Saul McLeod has written quite a bit of information around psychology and development. Simply Psychology website. has citations and references.

It discusses why kids bully, signs of bullying, and strategies to stop bullying. How this influenced my thinking:I love that this article says to be brave and walk away. Never confront the bully. It was a sweet resource to be able to use for my paper and was very relevant to it. How This Influenced My Thinking: The reason for why it should be done never even crossed my mind! Title: Catholic Marriage Preparations Author: NA Date Published: NA Why Relevant and Summary: This website is very helpful if one is planning to get married in the Catholic Church. Although it's only an outline of the marriage preparation classes, it definitely helps to give the key points of what is needed before getting married such as sacraments and also includes how Religion plays an important role within the marriage. How this influenced my Thinking: This website made me realize what a marriage consist of. For many people like me one usually thinks that married life is the best time of one's life and there is no problems that come with it, but reality is that a lot of work has to be put towards the marriage from both parts in order to have a successful marriage. This article definitely made it clear that a marriage has a lot of components. Credibility: Seems credible since it's from a parish website

Title: Brain Education Exercise Tips For Successful Aging Author: Ju Eun Shin Date: 07-22-2011 Why relevant and summary: Since life expectancy has been growing steady the last few decades in the US, the aging population has been in the center of attention for the society and government. This article points out some very useful tips, that the elderly can use to keep their brain active and improve not only their health but the quality of live as well. I really liked the facial release exercises that help with reliving the tension. How has this influenced my opinion: As my parents are getting older I want to know more about ways, tips and exercises on how to keep them healthy not only physically but mentally as well. Credibility: This was published on an online magazine called "BrainWorld" published by the International Brain Education Association (IBREA), a nonprofit educational organization in Canada.

Title:Selective optimization with compensation Author: many Date published:1999 Why relevant and summary: This site is a wikipedia psychology site that provides the reader with an explanation of what SOC is. It also gives a great example of a 75 year man who tries to maximize his cognitive resources. Further more, it breaks down the word 'selective optimization with compensation' and tells you what each word implies on its own, and how all the words as a whole make up the meaning of the theory. How this influenced my thinking: This influenced my thinking by providing me with a great example of SOC in a way that really helped my understanding of it. The idea of SOC makes perfect sense and i can see why psychologists use it when they are talking about successful aging. Credibility of source: I feel like the site was pretty credible.
