In the past we have seen Chetan Bhagat’s books making it big whenever adapted for silver screen. There has been screen-adaptation of his books like Five Point Someone (3 Idiots) One Night At A Call Centre (Hello), Three Mistakes of My Life (Kai Po Che), and 2 States is still under the production.And now, the latest buzz has that another of his book will be adapted on big screen. This time Bhagat has teamed up with Disney UTV, for his latest bestseller Revolution 2020, which is to be directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. For those unaware, the novel talks down the lives of three childhood friends, Gopal, Raghav and Aarti."It is an intense love story set against the backdrop of corruption in the education sector, which affects millions across the country. I can't wait for the three characters to be cast and brought to life," said Bhagat. On his part, Raj Kumar says, "When I read the novel, I was quite moved. It is a very simple and heartfelt story about being young, being confused, being in love, getting corrupt... I am looking forward to writing and directing this book for the screen."Siddharth Roy Kapur, Managing Director, Studios, Disney UTV, adds, "We are excited to have played the catalyst in bringing Chetan and Raj Kumar together. Chetan had shared the draft of his book with us even before it was published and we instantly reacted to its cinematic potential. It has an incredibly well-graphed storyline and the issues it deals with are those that today's youth will instantly relate to and identify with." The screenplay of the film is currently underway and is expected to go on floors mid-2014.

It’s time for actress Jennifer Lawrence to make a cameo appearance in the Dumb and Dumber sequel. The 23-year-old Oscar - winning actress was spotted on the set of the highly-anticipated comedy in Atlanta to play the younger model of Kathleen Turner's character.You may know that in the past Lawrence was heard revealing her interest in the original 1994 flick to late-night host Jimmy Fallon back in January. "I know every word to 'Dumb and Dumber,' 'Step Brothers' and 'Anchorman,'" she had said.And when Fallon asked the beautiful actress on the lines from the films, she came up with all the right answers. Shooting for a cameo was not a tough task for Lawrence as she is currently filming the Hunger Games trilogy in Georgia, which happens to be the same state where Dumb and Dumber 2 is being shot at the moment.The film’s actors, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels shared photos from the set this week dressed in full costumes as, Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, the characters they play in the movie. For the uninitiated, in the sequel, they funnymen would be on the road trip searching for Harry's long-lost daughter.Dumb and Dumber To is set to hit theaters in 2014!

After being on the editor-desk and producing the last installments of Paranormal Activity, Gregory Plotkin is now coming on board as the director of the fifth installment of the horror franchise. Earlier, Plotkin had produced Paranormal Activity horror franchise, including the spin-off Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. Now he is getting ready to helm the forthcoming sequel Paranormal Activity 5, arriving in October of 2014. Besides his work in the successful horror franchise which started in 2009, Plotkin has given his contribution as sub editor or assistant editor on some big films like The Break-Up, Friday Night Lights, The Insider. Apart from that he has also worked as a visual effects assistant editor on Pleasantville.The audience is keeping a tab on where the fifth installment of the franchisee will head towards as the last film really upped the ante as far as the spirit world. Almanac screenwriters Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark have come on board to pen the sequel. It will be produced by Jason Blum and Oren Peli.Let’s see if Plotkin succeeds in taking the franchisee to an all new level. We hope the film churns big money upon its release next year!

Here comes the good news for the fans of Hollywood actress Halle Berry as buzz states that this former supermodel is making comeback on small-screen with Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi drama series Extant. Last she was associated with television was in 1991, when she was part of American soap opera Knots Landing. CBS is going to telecast the project, which is going to be produced by Spielberg`s Amblin Television and is 13 episodes long.For those unaware, Berry would be seen in the role of an astronaut, who was returned for a year long voyage in outer space on her own. "I`m always on the lookout for amazing roles, and when you see material that contains this strong of auspices, nuance and complexity, it compels me to run toward it no matter the medium," Berry said in a statement."For five months a year I`ll get to live with and play this incredibly intelligent and vulnerable woman, and for the remainder of the year I`ll continue to look for other roles that move me as deeply as this one," she added.You can catch the series in the summer of 2014.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited concert Shah Rukh Khan & Friends: Temptation Reloaded Live in Malaysia 2013 has been re-scheduled. It was slated for 11 October, 2013, but now due to some logistic and security issues following US President Barrack Obama’s visit on the 10th and 11th October in Malaysia, it has been postponed till next year. Further, the visit of Obama has also get cancelled.  Concert organizing spokesperson, O. Kumaraguru, said, “We have postponed and the decision will not be pulled back.” Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak also announced that Obama has postponed his visit due to the temporary US government shutdown. Kumaraguru explained, “If Obama had announced his delay earlier, perhaps the concert could have taken place on the fixed date. The Shah Rukh Khan & Friends concert is now scheduled to take place before April 2014 and the exact date is expected to be announced by the end of this month.”According to the statement, this (postponement) was due to security reasons, which was brought up following the date of the president’s visit to Malaysia being close to the date of the concert. The statement explains that Obama’s visit also raised logistic issues, which may affect the concert.Concert organizers further expressed their regret over the postponement and stated that who had purchased the ticket can get their refund.

Least people know that Gang of Wasseypur fame, Huma Qureshi, is a big fan of bollywood superstar Salman Khan. She admires the Dabangg actor ardently and recently gets the chance to meet him on the sets of Bigg Boss 7. The beautiful actress, along with Madhuri Dixit, visited the TV reality show for the promotions of their upcoming film Dedh Ishqiya.It was weekend ka wow episode and Salman Khan introduced the two beautiful actresses on the sets through a dance performance with each. During the interaction time, shy girl Huma revealed that she is a big fan of Salman Khan. She also went inside the Bigg Boss 7 house and from there she said, “I am a big fan of yours and that is the reason, I watch Bigg Boss.”Huma’s revelation brought smile on Salman’s face and he replied to her by saying, “Arre, aap ne pehle kyu nahi bataya agar bataati toh mere saath yahan hoti.”Huma made her feature-film debut with a supporting role in the 2012 critically acclaimed crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1 and Part 2 as Mohsina. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's last romantic sojourn hogged limelight after pictures of their Ibiza stint, her in a mismatched bikini and him in shorts, were leaked. According to the little birdie, “Ranbir has wrapped up a small portion of Jagga Jasoos and his schedule is such that personal commitments don't hinder his film. Katrina too has worked out a plan to leave the city in the last week of December. They will be joined by Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji and Manish Malhotra.”It is known that last year Karan and Manish brought in the New Year in Dubai while Ranbir and Katrina celebrated in the States. Upcoming film Khoobsurat will be a family entertainment that has Sonam Kapoor as its leading lady, Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor as its producers. It would be produced by The Walt Disney Studios and proud father Anil said it is going to be a happy venture.“My daughters have grown up watching Disney movies, so it's exciting to see this collaboration. We have worked hard on the script and are sure the film will have universal appeal,” said Anil Kapoor, who is currently enthralling TV audience with his debut show 24 on Colors channel.Talking about the upcoming family production film, Khoobsurat has just gone on floors in Bikaner, Rajasthan. It revolves around Mili (Sonam), a vivacious girl who turns the lives of a royal family upside down. For the film, Sonam, who is known for his fashion has gone to adopt a de-glam look. About the film she said, “When you look at Walt Disney's life, his whole purpose was to entertain people and make them happy. And, in this film, Mili makes things happy and Khoobsurat.”Disney UTV’s Managing Director Siddharth Roy Kapur, further added, “The script is endearing and entertaining... it will be a fun experience for the whole family.”Khoobsurat will also see Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah and Aamir Raza Hussain and being directed and  written by ad-filmmaker Shashank Ghosh. It is scheduled to hit theatres in mid-2014.

Earlier we heard that top-line actors choose their directors with whom they want to work, but this is quite surprising that nowadays actors have also shown their interest in picking out producers of their films. Beauty queen and Bollywood’s one the most sought out actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has recently indicated to her director that she will choose the producer for the project. As per the sources, a producer of Aishwarya’s forthcoming film, which might be directed by Prahlad Kakar, issued a statement that she had given green-light for his film. On the announcement, Ash, who was in Kolkata on that day, was reportedly unhappy with the news leak.  She is happy to do a film with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and has also indicated that she may do a film directed by Prahlad Kakar. But if gossipmongers have to be believed then she has asked her film director that she will choose the producer for the project. According to the director's side, it had come out that there will be final narration given to the diva around October 15 or so and also that the project may take off in the beginning of 2014. Let’s see who bags the golden chance to produce Ash’s comeback film? As a die-hard fan of the blue-eyed girl, we only want to see her back on the silver screen, no matter who will produce the flick and who will direct.

DAR Motion Pictures has come up with the most versatile production house, and its latest release The Lunchbox, in collaboration with UTV and Dharma Productions did good business at the box-office.Its upcoming projects are Mickey Virus, Ugly, etc. Arun Rangachari from the production house says "Our content strategy is genre and demographic agnostic, and is driven by a core philosophy to bring high-quality content to a cross-section of Indian audiences. Backed by best-of-class talent, each of our films this year belongs to a different genre and is focused on a distinctive audience segment."The production house aims to invest in different genres of films. "We are currently finalizing our slate of films for 2014, which again will be equally eclectic in terms of genres, themes, narratives, budgets and casting, with high-quality content being at the core," says Vivek Rangachari from the production house.Director Ritesh Batra says, "I am very excited to be a part of DAR family with The Lunchbox. As a production house they give creative freedom and support to their directors."Manish Paul, who plays the main lead in Mickey Virus, said, "After my experience of working with them on 'Mickey Virus', I can say that that they know how to identify and nurture creative talent."We hope they keep on attain success!

Often business deals between two partners turn out to be bad affair, and we guess same is the case between Raj Kundra and Venky’s Balaji Rao. Lately, Kundra has been claiming that how Rao owes him several crores in sponsorship dues towards the fight league that Kundra co-founded with Sanjay Dutt.Even the two has been sending each other legal notices over the same, however, what comes to notice is that it was Dutt, who introduced Rao and Kundra to each other. And even when the two parties are fighting, Dutt and Rao remain to be best of friends. Meanwhile, between all this drama, Kundra has something good to celebrate as well, as the first look of his debut movie production Dishkiyaaoon with wife Shilpa Shetty, was released recently. It will be an action thriller which would star Harman Baweja and Sunny Deol.Recently the teaser poster of the movie was released, and it will be produced under the couple's home banner Essential Sports and Media Pvt Ltd. in association with Eros International, will also introduce newcomer Ayesha Khanna. Shilpa Shetty said, "We are very excited about our very first production. In keeping with our mission, this is a splendid script that will reach out to the large mainstream audience and it's our pleasure to be associated with Eros and its global distribution network." The film is scheduled to release Jan 10, 2014.

Miss Lovely marks the first release for Easel, the brainchild of distribution executive Abhishek Gautam and filmmakers Bikramjit Gupta, Atanu Mukherjee and Pooja Gupte. Veteran distributor Sunny Khanna is in with Easel and Eagle to release Miss Lovely, according to Screen Daily.“We hope to release across 200-300 screens,” said Abhishek Gautam. “As a team we want to focus on distributing independent cinema in India.” The company will also release Sangee Thongdok’s Crossing Bridges, made in the north-east Indian dialect of Sherdukpen, that premiered at Mumbai Film Festival.Meanwhile, former IFC Films executive Ryan Werner and distribution agency Required Viewing are working on the US release of Miss Lovely, which is scheduled for March 2014. Cinetic Media’s FilmBuff is handling digital distribution for North America.Miss Lovely premiered at Cannes in Un Certain Regard in 2012 and won best film in the India Gold competition at last year’s Mumbai Film Festival. Fortissimo Films sold the film to France’s Ad Vitam in Cannes 2012.
