Attending the three day fest, Cinema beyond Boundaries in New York, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar feels good with the international film dignities. He is exchanging notes with Hollywood directors, writers and music composers on understanding the global perspective in cinema. The director also said that Indian film industry and Hollywood can learn a lot from each other as the two industries seek to cater to the evolving nature of cinema.“There will be something that I take from them and they will take from us. While Hollywood has had a huge influence on the Indian industry, Bollywood and its actors too are garnering a lot of attention in the western film world,” said the filmmaker, who is well-known for his films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion and Heroine. The event would focus on the global influence of Indian cinema, forecast changes in the fast growing and rapidly evolving filmmaking industry. “Cinema has changed drastically over the years and films are now being made in different genres like commercial, edgy and radical to cater to the tastes of an evolving viewership,” he added.“Indian cinema is no more limited to audiences in India. We have viewers all around the world and hence understanding the global perspective is a must. Cinema Beyond Boundaries would get the viewers and the filmmakers together and would help us in serving them with good quality cinema,” Bhandarkar said. Well said Madhur Bhandarkar!

Soha Ali Khan, the sister of Saif Ali Khan shares a good relationship compatibility with her sister in law aka Kareena Kapoor. Soha says that Bebo has set her priorities right on professional and personal fronts. Soha says, “We are very much ourselves and what I love about her is in spite of being a huge star, she is a very down to earth person. Physically also she is without make up, chilled out and naturally very beautiful as a person. I know how difficult it is to be an actor and work and then have to look after your personal life. I respect the fact that she is clear in her priorities about work and my brother. So I have lot of respect for her as a person and we get along very well... She likes me because I am like my brother.”Soha is happy for her brother Saif and feels that Kareena has positive influence on him. She said, “If you sit with four actors you will realise no actor is interested in another actor's work. They will immediately switch off. We are more interested in talking about what is happening off set, we indulge in gossip all the time but I am not telling you.”The actress is also very excited about her war comedy flick, War Chhod Na Yaar. She said, “This particular representation at border is unique. I always wanted to go to the border and I was looking to get an opportunity to go to Kargil. Sharman Joshi and I went to Wagah Border when we were shooting for Rang De Basanti. I always had this imagination of going there after seeing Border, LOC and to know as to what happens there.”The actress will be seen playing the role of a reporter in the movie. It also stars Sharman Joshi, Jaaved Jaffrey, Dalip Tahil and Mukul Dev. The movie will hit screen son the 11th of October.

Deepika as Leela will be in her most graceful but spicy on-screen appearance, he claims. SLB said, “Leela is like my mother — beautiful, graceful, but teekhi! She's delicate, but she cannot be taken lightly. She isn't a recluse. She lives life to the fullest and on her own terms. She is colour, she is what she is... I wanted Deepika to be that.” It is also informed by director that for the look of Deepika, a Gujarati girl, he wanted to keep it as natural to his vision. Minimalistic make-up by Mehera Kolah and an undone light bouffant ensured that the actress looked ethereal. He himself visited Gujarat for Deepika's outfits, which has been designed by Anju Modi. Deepika added, “Apart from the fact that he is one of the most celebrated directors, Sanjay sir has always been known for the way he presents his heroines. So, other than getting to work with him, I was excited about my look in the film. The maiden episode of Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan featuring Salman Khan went viral amidst the audience. It was an awe-struck beginning that one reality show could ever have. The British singer-cum-actress Sofia Hayat, who entered as a wild card entrant a few weeks back, is dropped out from Bigg Boss 7 house. Though initially, she entered the caravan section of the house, she soon stepped into the main Bigg Boss house where she mingled with all the contestants. She came out with a lot of spunk and never-say-die attitude in the show.However, post her fight with housemate Armaan Kohli, she was not feeling good in the house. Even at a point of time, she managed to create controversies and demanded to evict Armaan from the house. During a task Armaan supposedly hit the lady with the mop stick and she wanted to move out of the house.Sofia also made good friends in form of Gauhar Khan, Kushal Tandon, Andy and Kamya Punjabi. She joined Gauhar and Kamya’s hands and played the game while adopting the divide and rule tactic. But situations did not work in her favor and she ended up switching sides between Armaan-Tanisha and Gauhar-Kamya. Owing to her double-faced and deceitful nature, she attracted a lot of criticism from the housemates and was often referred to as Kerosene. Over all, she receives mixed feedbacks from her followers. Talking on her experience, Sofia Hayat said, “I had never watched a single season of Bigg Boss and had a very little idea about what I was getting into. But at the end of my journey in the house, I have learned a lot of things and was able to sail through all the testing times. Having said that, I do not regret a single moment spent in the house, though I faced disagreement with many people in the house.”Wish you luck for the future endeavors.

With world’s sexiest Asain women title for the fourth time, Katrina Kaif, seems getting too big to her moods. Known for her composed nature, something always appreciated by media, she recently came out throwing starry tantrums to all. During a promotional event for a jewellery brand in Dubai everyone got a taste of her mood swings.She kept the organizers and media person rescheduling her commitments until the frustrated media decided to call it a day. If this was not enough, Katrina made it clear that she would not answer any questions on steady date Ranbir Kapoor. The whole drama was followed by a test to her team, “Cancel all my one-on-one interviews.”As per the sources, “The scribes were stumped at this sudden turn of events and many decided to leave. For those who decided to stay back, it was a long wait. The diva made her grand appearance for the press con, scheduled at 2.30 pm, two hours late. It was brief and without meat. Next was a visit to the retail outlets. Katrina sent out another message asking her team to cancel the visit to the third venue because she wasn't happy with the security arrangements there.” The venue was located in the densely populated Meena Bazaar and following her concerns, the security was promptly doubled but the actress still refused to budge from her stand. The drama not ends here. When the day was about to end, Katrina had another change of heart. She messaged her team asking them to call all members of the press back to the first venue at 6.15 pm. By now the journalists had enough of her starry tantrums and when the star reached the venue hardly a handful had turned up, among them a leading TV channel. Spotting it, Katrina went into a tizzy again, stating that she was not prepared for interviews with the electronic media.That’s not appreciated!

All set to be seen in upcoming action-comedy Boss, superstar Akshay Kumar revealed while promoting the Anthony D’Souza directorial, that he has this greed of doing good work, and it is in his nature to not take success for granted.He also revealed that he feels a sense of thrill doing stunts in his films, on his own, and exclusively for Boss, he has also avoided cable action. “In Boss, there is no cable action because youngsters are getting bored of it. They feel that the actors are not doing much — the cables are in all the jumps etc. In this film I have avoided cables. I just sit with my 10-year-old son and he gives me so much input. I get introduced to new music, new cinema, short films on YouTube courtesy Aarav (his son),” says Akshay.With Boss, he has turned mentors to two actors, Shiv Pandit and Aditi Rao Hydari, on the same, he said, “Shiv and Aditi are both very good. The team and I thought that they would be perfect for the parts they play. He's a handsome, good-looking young boy. I really enjoyed the first film that he did —Shaitaan—he had done a very good job. Aditi works from the heart, is a very good actress, with a vulnerable face so we decided that they should be a part of our film. Shiv and I are brothers and sons to Mithun Chakraborty. As for mentoring talent, I like people with bright ideas.”Boss releases on October 16!

On the occasion of 76th Birthday of Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar and 24th anniversary of Hridaynath Arts, Amitabh Bachchan was felicitated to commemorate 71st birthday of Amitabh Bachchan and 71 years of music career of Bharatratna Lata Mangeshkar.Sudesh Bhosale, Siddhant Bhosale, Shaan, Sadhana Sargam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Vibhavari Apte and a host of singers sang on the occasion, and Harish Bhimani was at his best, not minding the sweltering heat minus ac. Jaya Bachchan, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Avinash Prabhavalkar, Adinath Mangeshkar, Hema Bhosle, Shruti Bhosle, Ashok Kumar Saraf, Pravin Kumar Saraf and a horde of others graced the occasion.The open air venue of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya resonated with the sound of melodious music, where young Siddhant Bhosle gave the older voices a run for their money.Lata Mangeshkar however could not attend the event due to ill health. She was sweet to call on Adinath Mangeshkar's mobile to convey her inability to Amitabh Bachchan, who naturally took it in his stride and made the moments for the viewers very memorable indeed.

Buzz from Tinseltown has that Jackie Chan has joined the brigade, which intends to fight against the massacre of elephants for ivory producing as he has come up in support of the Canada-Germany co-production Gambling on Extinction.It is learnt that documentary would be presented by Real to Reel Productions and German partner a&o buero film production.For those unaware, it looks into the matter where the illegal trade of wildlife products takes place, such as ivory, rhino horn and tiger parts. "Everyone should dispel the myths that ivory jewelry and carvings are made from tusks that have fallen off the elephant or from elephants that have died of natural causes," said Chan."This is simply not true. Elephants are being hunted and killed for their tusks. The only way to stop the slaughter is to cut the demand. We are all consumers, so we can all make a difference," he added. Meanwhile, Real to Reel producer Anne Pick, on his part said, "I know Jackie supports many worthy causes, and we, along with our German partners at a&o buero, couldn't be happier about his support for our film and this international wildlife crisis."For those unaware, the documentary has been sold to ZDF in Germany, W5 and Animal Planet in Canada, France's ARTE, SBS in Australia and Sweden's SVT.Already looking forward to it!

Ever since the two met on the sets of Ram Leela, everyone is talking about the nature of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s friendship. Their camaraderie, hang outs, dinner days and others are making people suspicious about what is actually brewing between the two. The rumours about their relationship have been rife for quite some time but the two have been secretive about it. As per the buzz, both have been taking extra efforts to spend time with each other. They have been undertaking secret trips across towns to see each other.Though people have spotted them at very next place in town getting cozy with each other and it was a Bandra’s high-end restaurant where they were recently spotted. The pretty actress was dressed in formal clothes and so was Ranveer. They made separate exit from the restaurant avoiding unnecessary attention from media and the public outside. The onlooker said that Ranveer left the restaurant through the front door, Deepika made a hurried exit through the back door.It seems the box-office queen Deepika Padukone has finally moved on after breaking up with Ranbir Kapoor and Siddharth Mallya. While other side, Ranveer, who allegedly dated Anushka Sharma is also seems moved on from his former relationship. Their film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is releasing on November 15.
