In this short blog post, Beth Corzo-Duchardt introduces a project she is working on in the Gender Studies Program. She has decided to "ditch" Blackboard, because it does not a smooth functioning user-friendly program for students and her. Instead, she is using Wordpress and is hoping it will work better for her classrooms.

The blog poster explains to readers that this addition to their collections is immensely helpful for readers, even when it at first seems intimidating to read.

Blogger and self proclaimed Digital Humanist Shannon Christine Mattern worries that the technical term "digital humanities" does not do the field any justice. The title was then broken down by Mattern. She says that digital is too broad of a term. If something by chance involves technology, it might be prematurely designated into Digital Humanities. The focus relies too heavily on "digital".

The purpose in building the site to fill the gap between literature and place. Dr. Young then shares eight keys things she has learned from this project.

Video series "At the Intersection" focuses on the use of big data by large companies, such as popular car companies. Land Rovers has accomplished many awards within only one year greatly due to the use of digital humanities. The old tactics of constructing a new car would be through physical examples such as clay models. With the use of virtual processing, designers could compare nine to eleven designs and examine specific problems. They invented a high computing ecosystem in order to generate over ten terabytes a day and store all their data. All these decisions was a huge change for their company and as a result they were able to create more options for better results in their products.

This post focuses on the group Weigle Information Commons (WIC) and their thoughts and ideas after attending a Digital Humanities event titles "Libraries, Labs, and Classrooms: Locating the Digital Humanitites." The WIC fit into the categories discussed and expanded on the ideas presented at the event by asking themselves, "how can WIC promote DH projects among our students and faculty and provide the resources to make such studies come to life?" Miriam Posner teaches Digital Humanities at UCLA. The interview with Posner focuses on the her path into her academic post. Posner explains her struggles with tenure and her early career in academics. The interview continues on to discuss Posner's teaching, digital humanities work and her writing plans.

This article written by Rebecca Frost Davis discusses the use of crowdsourcing in order to create a stronger integration with digital humanities and undergraduate curriculum. Having students work on large scale collaborations allows for professors and scholars teach them knowledge in a more creative way. While crowdsource projects may not cause students to take on professional work in the digital humanities field, it will nonetheless cause them to be more aware of how to use digital humanities in their real lives. Frost confronts the problems of such projects, such as the issue of what kind of project best fits into each class and the time constraints encountered. Moreover, whether the students each have access to computers inside and outside of class. With matters such as these properly organized, Frost encourages crowdsourcing projects for undergraduate students.

Matthew G. Kirschenbaum goes into detail about what digital humanites, and how the humanties can be affectively used in the English department. Kirschenbaum gives ideas on how open acces can be useful in the classroom. In his article he explores the different types of free accessible websites that were used in an English clasroom while students were reading Shakespeare to Second life. Students were able to view the entire thirty-two copy extant quarto copies of Hamlet online. This free accesability allowed students to be quized on the material and to get a better understanding of what they were reading. Kirschenbaum believes that the notion of free accesability will help expand the knowledge of English beyond the classroom.

In Making the Digital Humanities More Open, MITH will work with BrailleSC to undertake its second stage of development by designing and deploying a WordPress‐based accessibility tool that will create braille content for end-users who are blind or low vision.
