The Article gives great information on how agriclture is making a transition to a more sustainable envoriment.
  •
I really enjoyed reading this article for the fact that it was straight forward and easy to read, compared to the other articles that lose you to so much jargon.
  •
I really liked this article because it was forward and straight to the point. I life how it really went into depth on the topics of sustainability in livestock, crops, agriculture and more. It covers many different areas of topic in one easy to access article.
  •
I reallly like this article because the main page of the article has specific buttons for specific sections of the article, this makes the article very organized and neat. This article covers many different topics and definitely could be a good source to use.
  •
Cameron i agree i liked how This website gives you knowledge on a wide spectrum i enjoyed quite a few of the tabs i agreed with and thought that we should make so many of these things laws which can be punishable if they are ignored. The only way it seems to get people to do what's right is to give them no other choice.

I know we do not live in California, but when I came across this site I noticed that they have a section on compost. If our leftovers can't find a home, the compost is the way to go. Could be the easiest way to make use of our waste

I really enjoyed reading this article because it ties in with food waste what we have been taking about. For an instance I thought they were the same back to going "green" it is good to learn the difference to comprehend both. This is also very helpful for those of us who would like to help but do not know how.
  •
To achieve a sustainable society then food waste must be recycled as opposed to being sent to landfill sites around the country. We all know the problems that our planet is suffering through global warming that is partly aided by the greenhouse gasses that are produced when food waste is sent to landfill and the ensuing fluctuations in temperature that is suffered around the globe.
  •
I really like your comment Norma i Read the same thing but saw it in a different light. But then after reading about your going green comment i thought about how ironic it is that color is being considered a sustainability method. It is great when you can see something from someone else point of view and get more from something you already agreed with.

This was a interesting article changing the way indoor environment is seem like a weird way to do thing but the way it is explained seems like it helps. Like using the light self brightens the ceiling and also keeps less heat in the room by changing the direction of the glare.
  •
this article interested me because my mom is in the medical field and it discusses how places can be more Eco friendly and beneficial to the earth. This article brings up several ways that buildings can be more Eco by using lighting that self's adjust therefore using less energy and less heat because they wont be on 24/7.
  •
While reading this article I have realized many companies have been going the Eco- friendly route. On the way to work I saw the VA hospital have solar panels on the overheads in the parking lot. I also see a lot of churches installing solar panels.
  •
I love the comments made in this article. I agree with the author when she states that people have to look at the solar panels as part of the system on the building and not as something added on.

Energy - 0 views

We use energy for everything. We use energy to treat our water , grow our food, produces and to go to place to place. In general we want our community to develop more diverse, reliable, and cleaner sources of energy; to reduce energy usage; and to improve efficiency.

As you said and the article says energy is so important to us to keep life going. Creating a better source of energy would be a big advancement to help this cause. It is great that other cities are taking action to make a change.
  •
This article explains the importance of energy greatly, and the fact there is more to energy than "keeping the lights on". Energy needs to be sustainable for the future generations needs of energy, the need for energy won't go away.
  •
I tried to see what was important on this article but it wasn't very easy for me personally to grasp. I see that you 3 did find the point of the sustainability with electricity. I find it funny that we are always leaving lights on when we leave a room and think nothing of it until we are told it will save us money or that we are wasting something we really take for granted.
  •
This article states that sustainability and energy interconnect in many ways. I agree with Dominique we use energy for everything we do, but hopefully we don't take advantage of the resources we have now and end up leaving are future heirs high and dry.

  •
@ Kelsey Martell, I used one of the yippy and dogpile websites. They take some time to fish through because they too still bring up a lot of redundant information.
  •
What a great article that goes along with the 10th myth of sustainability. This gives a good example of how more harm is done when companies selling pesticides then good. This was a very interesting article to read through. Great job finding this article Jacob.

Its amazing to think that coal is is responsible for 80% of Chinas energy source. This results in China paying 2 billion a year.
  •
China definitely needs to take another look at how they control some parts of the country. I agree with Ivan, it's costing the country so much unnecessary financial farm it's crazy. Great read.
  •
I can't believe it is costing so much for them to use the coal. I wonder if this is why the cities always look so polluted and foggy? Very interesting article!

The website is short and to the point, what i really like about this article is that it is easy to read, compared to the other "sustainability" websites that have so much jargon.
  •
this website was easy to understand and interesting all at the same time. It gives a run down on the technology that is being applied now to help the the sustainability within our environment. This is also gives a sneak peek into what technology that they plan to improve on and introduce hopefully within the near future.
  •
This article was easy for me to understand, I really like how the article explained "sustainable energy" with terms that I know and isn't too far complex for the readers.

I thought that this article was very interesting because it relates to the 10 myths as well. The article is about when bigger countries, such as the U.S. and Europe who decided to move to sustainable growing techniques. The one thing wrong wtih sustainable growing is that we have less to export to poorer countries in need of low cost mass produced foods.

Zero Waste : A Realistic Sustainability Program for Schools - 2 views

  •
This article talks about a program that K-12th grade schools can implement through out their school. It gives examples on how this program has already been implemented and changed in schools. It also talks about how the program can be implemented in a school. This program is a great way to teach children and staff different ways to create a sustainable school.
  •
I think that is pretty cool that they have the kids get involoved as well, because like you said it is a great way to teach kids about sustainability and maybe some could even educate their parents. "However, most school districts don't have an award-winning nonprofit to implement a comprehensive Zero Waste program for them." (Schumper & Dietz). This comment made me think, are Zero Waste programs very exspensive if it is not through a non-profit group, and is that why other schoos do not implement this?
