The most common way sustainability has been defined is "the ability to sustain" or "the capacity to endure." It is about our society and its future and the lives we live and everything in it.Sustainability is about being eco-friendly and eco-effective. Society needs to change its marketing strategies.

    It seems governments and people are putting effort to achieve sustainability. World Commission on Environment and Development said a sustainable society "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Living sustainably, there would be no waste, and we would use half the amount of energy and materials budget we do now. "We need self-respect, identity, community, love, variety, beauty, challenge, and a purpose in living that is greater than material accumulation."

    This article explains the importance of energy greatly, and the fact there is more to energy than "keeping the lights on". Energy needs to be sustainable for the future generations needs of energy, the need for energy won't go away.

    I tried to see what was important on this article but it wasn't very easy for me personally to grasp. I see that you 3 did find the point of the sustainability with electricity. I find it funny that we are always leaving lights on when we leave a room and think nothing of it until we are told it will save us money or that we are wasting something we really take for granted.

    This article states that sustainability and energy interconnect in many ways. I agree with Dominique we use energy for everything we do, but hopefully we don't take advantage of the resources we have now and end up leaving are future heirs high and dry.

    I thought this was very interesting. Author Christopher Koetke speaks about the imoprtance of food sustanability, most imoprtantly he mentions that countries around the world are teaching about the importance of food waste. Finally everyone has agreed that food sustainability is a big issue and we have to take action today for the future generations.

    This article laid out for ways people can prevent food waste. The first was plan meals for the week. Often times if you plan you won't waste. The next is scrape your scraps. Save your scraps of veggies and fruits and freeze them. In the future you can use them for different meals. Preserve your foods. This includes canning, dehydrating, and or pickling foods that you won't eat all of. Portion size is a big way on not wasting food. Start with small amounts of food a person can always go back for seconds. Last is compost items and use it for soil.

It talks about how Americans fill a football stadium each day with the amount of food we waste and how that negatively effects the environment. It also touches on how we are a society that went from having many farmers and a greater appreciation for the work that went into growing the food to not knowing or caring where it came from and how much we waste.

    Cameron i agree i liked how This website gives you knowledge on a wide spectrum i enjoyed quite a few of the tabs i agreed with and thought that we should make so many of these things laws which can be punishable if they are ignored. The only way it seems to get people to do what's right is to give them no other choice.
