    This article talks about how much schools waste. Tribune went into Chicago public schools to see just how much they were wasting. The results were 334 pounds of uneaten food per day. Often times children aren't allowed to take uneaten food out of the cafeteria because it falls into liability and health issues for the school districts then. Chicago schools districts is trying to come up with a way to not have as much food waste but not have liability and health issues on their hands.

The number one thing that is thrown away is food scrapes, not plastic or paper. Those food scrapes we could be composting. She stated that wasting food is a cultural habit. We are use to doing it and it is culturally acceptable. Breaking this awful food waste habit then there is going to have to be an adjustment in our society.
