Little tip: "If you're a Google Apps administrator, note that disabling Google chat across your domain now disables chat in Drive" I think we have to work with chat. It would be nice if chat could be enabled or disabled by document but it is a whole-domain thing right now. I hate to see it disabled.

I wish it wasn't a whole domain issue as well. We were allowing students to chat in docs and then noticed it wasn't working because it's now connected with Google chat. I also wish that there was an archive of the chat with some of the issues we've had.

While gmail has added some encryption features, it isn't really enough of anything. ProtonMail was recommended by a recent Forbes article for having the highest level of security of any email service. If you need to send bank draft information, w-9's or other information, it makes sense to have one of these accounts. They simply charge for extra storage.

A cool tool for studying flashcards. Here's the system: View a card and think of the answer. Flip the card to reveal the answer. Rate how well you will remember that answer forever on a scale of 1-5. If you work with younger children under the age of 5, you will want to look deeper into this research that shows that words mean less to children than adults when trying to categorize things. ""In the past, we thought that if we name the things for children, the labels will do the rest: children would infer that the two things that have the same name are alike in some way or that they go together," he said. "We can't assume that anymore. We really need to do more than just label things."
