Interesting comments here on this photo about Google Orkut and people stealing Flickr Pictures of children - this is from 2007 but the conversation is interesting -- we want to SHARE photos but not SHARE them in inappropriate ways -- how can we license for NON ADULT use -- and doesn't "adult" have two meanings here?

I began reading Diane Cordell's blog. She shared a fabulous beginning-of-the-year activity to get her students thinking about class rules using images from Flickr as visual prompts. She wrote about the process, shared the links and the finalized Slideshare. The activity got her kids thinking both divergently and convergently about how a classroom can work as a community. I needed to do that, too.

Mary Ann from Web 2 Tools for the Read / Write / Web shares a new tool I haven't seen, "Yahoo Glue" -- it lets you organize things together on one page - nothing to download. Looks fascinating. She shares a sample here as well.

In my earlier post, I mentioned how Twitter played such a prominent role in the TLt experience. There was another theme that threaded through almost every presentation and deep into the private conversations; the importance of family. I've never been to a conference where so many presenters boldly expressed how their family motivated them to share, learn, and create. My family sacrificed quite a bit for me to attend this conference, and I greatly appreciated being in the presence of others who recognized the importance of incorporating family values into your work life. Everyone I met was just a pleasure to be around. I would like to share a little about some of them. I can't list everyone I met, because I didn't spend much time with some of them, but hopefully I can help you get to know a few of those with whom I connected.

Connexions is: a place to view and share educational material made of small knowledge chunks called modules that can be organized as courses, books, reports, etc. Anyone may view or contribute. Interesting website with fascinating applications.

1. Many in the blogger- and Twittersphere are realizing and understanding that their PLN will give them back what they put into it. 2. We need to share what we do in the classroom, not only to give other educators fresh ideas and new ways to look at teaching and learning, but also to collectively show that schools and individual classrooms ARE changing and preparing students for a different future.

A site to share video

Here is a beautiful webquest which uses links to many Educational Technology leaders and also some fascinating videos. I love this because it is a great activity to share with beginners, but also because of the super-cool layout and integration of a variety of media. I want to find out how they did this? Just creating a web page or with another tool. Cool PD tool to share.
