SpicyNodes is a website that allows users to create node-maps (similar to mind maps) through an interactive, multimedia platform. Creating a node-map requires users to engage in highly complex cognitive tasks as users must create a hierarchal order for the information they want to present. As a teaching tool, each node can be designed to include both pictures or videos and text to highlight content, consistent with Mayer's (2009) dual channel processing principle. Designed effectively, a node-map can be an effective learner-centered approach for presenting information as the concise format of a node naturally aligns with the "limited capacity" of working memory (Id.). As a learning tool, learners can use node-maps to organize their thinking and developing understanding of complex subjects. Creating a node-map requires the user to carefully consider the relationship and interconnectedness of information and to organize that information in a meaningful manner. Reference: Mayer, R. Zunal web quest maker allows teachers to create web quests to present content to students. The web quest can serve as a guide while students explore content on their own. This allows them to delve more deeply into topics of interest. Each web quest has welcome, introduction, task, process, evaluation, and conclusion pages. Membership also allows teachers to search all web quests created on Zunal to use them in their classroom. With a Professional membership, users can copy and edit other user's web quests to personalize them for use in their classroom. Professional membership also allows access to other features, like the ability to embed additional pages, pre-test and post-test, rubric, quiz, map, and games. Using a web quest created by Zunal can help learners manage the information being presented. The evaluation page can be used to promote generative processing. This site is better than other similar sites because of all of the features available, including the ability to edit web quests made by other users and all of the pages that can be added into the web quest, like maps and games.

This website is a hosting service that allows you to create pages, edit pages and collaborate with people. It provides a wonderful opportunity for students to create projects and get feedback from others. Documents, pictures, graphics and videos can be upload to the site. I chose this site because it was very user friendly with some Office features.

Wikispaces allows users to collaborate online. Features include embedding files and videos, invitations to members, and restrictions for access and editing. Wikis support the principles of generative and essential learning. The collaboration that occurs through the use of a wiki creates an engaging learning environment for participants to process the material they are learning. Wikis are easier to use for collaborative efforts.

o Wikispaces provides a space where learners can collaborate while developing a final product to demonstrate understanding. Pictures, videos, documents, and just about anything can be added to the site. Cognitive processing is at its best with this tool as learners create knowledge together from the material they have studied. o Extremely easy to use especially with the update where the teacher can create a class code to share with students so they can join the class from any wiki account.

This is a free poll site that can be embedded into a PowerPoint so results show as folks vote. Really cool -- and did I say "free"?????????????

Diagnostic assessments drive the instruction process, when teachers/presenters know what the students know, need to know or wonder about. Poll Everywhere is an audience response system using standard web technology. It works through text, web, or Twitter, its simplicity and flexibility are earning rave reviews. I love it because responses show up immediately on the screen, allowing the instructor to create a chart, or just show responses. This is a free web-based program for up to 30 responders.

This website allows a user to develop online polls that learners in a workshop/presentation can participate in. With regard to pre-training activities, quick polls can help both learners and the instructor quickly gauge what the learners know before digging into the planned activities. In addition, polls can be designed to engage learners and prepare them for some of the activities they will participate in. The product available at this website provides free access for designing quick polls. It also allows the designer to choose how participants respond to the polls. In addition to text messaging, the designer can use a web address (if mobile devices are not convenient for the setting) to allow easy access. In addition to the interactive capabilities, the polls can be seamlessly integrated into a PowerPoint presentation or website.

This is an excellent collaborative brainstorming tool for creating a mind map. This could be excellent for PreTraining or for a graphic organizer. Imagine your class having this open while you present key information, and they create their mind map of your concepts.

Bubbl us is a graphic organizer used to organize ideas. As I viewed the site, I thought I could offer this to my students who might be intimidated by the use of graphic organizers on the web. Using this site might reduce the extraneous process because the goal is to organize thoughts not learn a new tool.

The is online mind mapping software whre participants can create a graphic organizer online. Graphic organizers can be shared with friends or saved as a jpeg.

I like this website because it give you examples for how you can present your presentation with some humors. If people are talking during your presentation, you can say, "Feel free to talk among yourselves. ... or "You thought you were in the dark before this session! This activity helps participants get to know each other better. A form of pre-employment screening that verifies that you are a good fit for the leading the presentation. This is a blog. The author covers everything about e-learning and presentations. He uses PowerPoint to create most of his content and offers many tips on creating presentations. I have been following this blog for about three years now and am amazed at the information I glean from his posts.

This multimedia artifact is a blogging site that provides a multitude of technology tools, tips, tricks, presentations, and "how-to's" of implementing technology in the classroom. The author of the blog demonstrates many different aspects of technology integration through the use of videos, presentations, words, and pictures. This site is definitely a more learner-centered approach to multimedia design as it contains many different visuals and auditory captions to cognitively challenge the learner. The site does focus on a certain technologies, but it is not about the technology, but how the technology is adapted to the learners. (Mayer, 2010)

This presentation provides information for instructors wishing to incorporate presentations into their course material and still provide ADA compliance. The video provided instructions for checking presentations created in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 for accessibility and how to correct those issues. This again is an example of Mayer's dual channel learning.

A website where you can create your own animated videos. This is the main presentation and focus of my workshop. It has tutorials and step by step instructions on how to create an animated video of your choice.

GoAnimate! allows teachers to quickly create animated lessons. The site offers a variety of options for setting, images, and avatars. Users can use the text-to-speech feature or record their own voices to narrate the videos. These videos can be used to quickly create engaging videos to present content to learners. GoAnimate! can be used to help learners manage essential processing by using the principles of multimedia to create an effective presentation. It is better than other sites because it is so user friendly, and animations can be created quickly.

This website lets you create an animated video for use in your classroom. View the video on their introduction page to learn about the features and options. A teacher could also let students have the option of animating a presentation for the class to help engage student creativity.

280 Slides is a site that allows users to create presentations similar to a PowerPoint. In fact, if a PowerPoint show has already been created, it can be uploaded to the site. This tool could be used by workshop participants as they collaborate to create a brief presentation about a concept discussed in the workshop. The fact that this tool is so similar to PowerPoint was a big plus, in addition to the fact that, unlike PowerPoint, when the 280 Slide presentation is completed, it can be easily shared to the Web.

I chose this site because of its ease of use and its numerous relevant features that allow me to create beautiful presentations, store them online for free, and access them from any computer that is connected to the internet

"Death by Bullet Points" is no longer allowed as Haiku Deck limits your text on each slide. Sharing is easy through Facebook, Twitter, and email. These can be viewed on any mobile device as well. Explanation: This site allows users to create effective lessons and include multimedia and an environment that encourages users to stay in the course or lesson. Reasoning: The site is free, easy-to-manage, and flexible because it allows for all types of medium to be included in the presentation. In addition, since users stay within the medium to view any websites or presentation materials, they are less likely to be distracted.

The presentation is potentially useful to my workshop because it addresses motivation through the theory of Albert Bandura. The learner-centered presentation incorporates simplistic and easy to read PowerPoint slides that can be incorporated with verbal presentation. The presentation inspires cognitive learning because it promotes discussion by asking questions based upon the assumption that student motivation is heavily influenced by how they perceive their place in society.

This website is an article that addresses some tips and "To Dos" for people who plan to do educational presentations. It discusses essential aspects such as theme, timing and delivery. Presenters reading this article can take whatever tidbits of information they like and disregard the others. So the allowance of flexibility is what fosters generative processing.

Anymeeting will be used by my participants to communicate with each other and create a presentation training presentation. The software gives the participants the power to share information with each other. Anymeeting was chosen because of the features offered and because it is free.

It is good for essential and generative learning by keeping audience attention for a presentation in a modern capacity for viewing and listening. This site costs about 30 dollars per year for the single license package. It not for the cost, it could be the premier site for just about any presentation.

This site provides tips on presenting information in multimedia format. The site narrows down presentation tools to what is considered three big ones and does not overwhelm the reader with all the available tools. I like how the tips represent the link examples placing a visual and audio representation of the presentation tool in the reader's mind.
