    Jing is a free screen casting software available from Tech Smith. Jing allows users to make up to five-minute screen casts that can be used for tutorials and presentations. Jing is useful in both essential and generative learning process.

    Jing allows for the recording of screenshots to create images, as well as filming screen casts of actions performed on the user's screen. It also has an added multimedia feature to add audio to screenshots and screen casts. I chose this website because it will allow me to create a screen cast video for my workshop participants to show them how to use different features in creating a glog using Glogster EDU.

    Jing is a screen capture program that can combine pictures and recorded audio. This is program is like a scaled down Camtasia, and is not as powerful, but also does not involve the cost of Camtasia. The screen capture and voice capture functions do work as advertised. Jing can capture anything displayed on your computer screen, pictures, video being played, movements of the mouse etc, the final product can be saved for further use, shared online, or emailed to others.

Jing can capture anything displayed on the computer screen, including pictures, video, and even movements of the mouse. The final product can be saved for further use, shared online, or emailed to others. Jing is considered a technology-centered program that has the capability to produce learning. The technology-centered approach fails to lean to lasting improvements in education, therefore, the use of jing alone would not warrant effective learning.

In addition, users can develop screenshots with notations to create manuals and instructions. Students can demonstrate procedural knowledge through the use of this program and make sense of processes. In addition, teachers can share vast guidance on how online programs and feature work through the creation of screencasts. o The site is free which is pretty incredible considering you can also host your videos and share them via a url which makes emailing large files much easier. The site is easy to use and the quality of the screencasts remarkable.

    Assignment, Module 3 - iShowU.com is a screen casting application for Mac users.  Although there is an HD version available for a nominal charge, the basic version is free.  iShowU will capture and record anything on your screen instantly.  It has a single-button record system and simple settings to allow users to control audio levels and screen size.  You can capture mouse positions, pause and resume recording, and access the video at the instant you stop recording.

    JayCut is a free online video editor that provides some basic video editing features, but is likely able to meet the needs of most educational technologists and instructional designers. The site is fairly straight forward but can interface with a variety of files and can combine audio, video, and text in an online editor. Files can be uploaded or they can be captured via microphone and/or webcam. The options included in this online application are rather impressive. The site could be used for presentations or pre-training. Students may benefit from the use of JayCut as it can facilitate the organization of materials to support essential and generative cognitive processing. By organizing text, images, and sound in a coherent manner and in a manner that upholds signaling, and spatial and temporal contiguity, students may be more inclined to organize in their own mind relationships between new material and that which is stored in working memory.

    This screen capture program works from the internet, without you having to install it on your computer. It also allows you to download the file, or upload it straight to You Tube. It is better than other options because its quick and easy, and it doesn't need to be installed, which is great for teachers who often face restrictions in installing software on their school computers. This will allow teachers to record a virtual tour of a final Blackboard course.
