This is a screencast concerning how to set up a wikispace for students and teachers.

This site allows the user to create a screencast using a web based service, so unlike other screencasting programs, this one is entirely online. The benefit of screencasting is that you can show your users how to create something using the computer and be able to share the video in the end.

Jing is an online computer service that provides its users with the capability to capture basic video, animation, and still images, while also being able to share what has been captured on the web with others. Jing can capture anything displayed on the computer screen, including pictures, video, and even movements of the mouse. The final product can be saved for further use, shared online, or emailed to others, but videos are limited to five minutes. Jing is considered a technology-centered program that has the capability to produce learning. The technology-centered approach fails to lean to lasting improvements in education, therefore, the use of Jing alone would not warrant effective learning. This particular screencasting program is one of the best, because it is free and it can be used in a number of ways (from pre-training, to teaching, to presenting).

o Jing is a screencast program where users can create a video of their screens while narrating instructions. In addition, users can develop screenshots with notations to create manuals and instructions. Students can demonstrate procedural knowledge through the use of this program and make sense of processes. In addition, teachers can share vast guidance on how online programs and feature work through the creation of screencasts. o The site is free which is pretty incredible considering you can also host your videos and share them via a url which makes emailing large files much easier. The site is easy to use and the quality of the screencasts remarkable.

Free online screencast tool. Excellent for facilitating essential learning, especially in hands-on demonstrations. Explanation of choice: Recommended because allows for creation of free screencasts of up to 15 minutes in length in your browser, and unlike others, requires no downloads.

The screencast allows the person to prepare a lesson using both audio and visual channels. It allows the teacher to prepare the lesson for self-paced work by the students. It is an ideal tool for differentiated instruction where all the students can be working at their own pace and at the own level of proficiency. This site is very effective. One can create good tutorials with good sound, and it is easy to use by the teachers.

This aim of this screencast demonstration is to create clarity concerning misleading elements found on the wikihow site that was provided as a guide for my workshop participants to effectively develop their powerpoint presentations for their authentic assessment.

Screenr allows the user to record a five minute video. The benefit of the time limit of five minutes is that you have to be concise in your video creation. The overall screencasting experience is beneficial because if you are having individuals involved in the process of a common project (e.g. creating a blog or a Facebook group) everyone can get the same instruction and be ready to move on to the main portion of the project.

Screenr allows users to create screencasts to share their knowledge. Features of screenr allow users to record directly on their Mac or PC without installing or downloading software. Once the screencast is made, it can be embedded on sites and blogs. One way that screenr supports essential learning is by addressing the modality and multimedia principles. Screenr seems to be more effective for creating tutorials.

This is the second of three screencasts I created for my multimedia workshop.  Here, I demonstrate how to enhance a 2-dimensional design by using dumpr.net.  I also demonstrated how to take a screen shot of an existing image using a Mac.

This is the site to download the free version of Jing. You can also purchase the professional version. This tool will be used to create how to videos and real time screen sharing. When learners see step by step processes in real time, it helps to reinforce the concepts and increases memory. These videos can also be shared via HTML and as downloads. Because the HTML codes are easy (cut and paste) and the loading of the presentation (click play), learners will not have to have high tech skills to access the videos and they have the oprion to save them and revisit them.

If one is intending participants to have something set-up before the presentation, record a Jing and save the file or easily share the file using sites like screencast.com. Jing allows audience members to be prepared for the speaker. Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found (e.g., more effective, creates better products, easier to use, and so on): Easy to use! You can also pause the recording while making it as well as mute. Screencast.com allows for quick sharing in multiple forms.

Learners can use jing to record their activities that demonstrate their learning within the Bb environment. It connects visuals with audio and can demonstrate, highlight, and segment items in accordance with best-practices in multimedia design. It's better than other products because it's easy to use and free!

This is the third, and most difficult to produce, screencast I created for my multimedia workshop.  In this tutorial I demonstrated how to design a 3-dimensional graphic image in Google SketchUp.  I reproduced the Fila logo in the demonstration.

What it does: Capture your keystrokes, mouse movement, and screens to teach someone how to do a procedure. You can add voice to explain it. Why this one? It is free and very easy to use. Learning curve is quick. I have used it for my company many times. Learning benefit? For essential learning, learners can see exactly what they are supposed to do. When they trial and error it on their own, if they make a mistake, they can easily go back and watch the video again to discover their possible mis-path

This screen capture program works from the internet, without you having to install it on your computer. It also allows you to download the file, or upload it straight to You Tube. It is better than other options because its quick and easy, and it doesn't need to be installed, which is great for teachers who often face restrictions in installing software on their school computers. This will allow teachers to record a virtual tour of a final Blackboard course.

Camtasia allows you to create interactive videos easily. The most alluring factor of this site is the fact that "… you can create interactive training and support videos that are on-demand for instant viewing. Screencasts are quick, easy, and inexpensive to produce. They're perfect for rolling out new software, orienting new staff, showing customers how to use your product, or establishing a "self-help" desk" (Camtasia, 2011).

This video narrates and screencasts the steps to incorporating a multiple choice quiz into a PowerPoint presentation in order to make it more interactive.
