It provides a wonderful opportunity for students to create projects and get feedback from others. Documents, pictures, graphics and videos can be upload to the site. I chose this site because it was very user friendly with some Office features.

    Wikis/Wikispace is a website that allows groups, individuals, etc. to create web pages on their preferences. Members are invited to groups. Also the web pages can be public or private. Wikispace is a great website because I can create a page to upload a survey/questionnaire to determine the knowledge of the participants. Also A chat session/blog will be created so the learners can receive feedback on their questions.

    Wikispaces is an excellent platform for providing information to individuals and groups. I have used this resource for many years and prefer the simple layout and navigational tools. Information can be linked, downloaded and posted to provide synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities. Active discussions, or interactions can also be monitored.

    Assignment 3 Wikispaces provides sharing and feedback of pre-training requirements. The creation of a wiki for pre-training material promotes essential learning by allowing learners to engage with key elements of the workshop and build retention of fundamental skills. (Mayer, 2009, p. 13) Using this website, workshop participants can see how easy it is to create a wiki page for them and for their students to create. Mayer considers behavioral activity to be hands-on. Since this website will be used for hands -on activity, creating a wikispace, this website should be considered behavioral.

Wikispaces is a great site to create wikis because it is intuitive and easy to use. It tracks each change and allows members to view previous edits, and restore old versions, if needed. Wikispaces can promote generative processing by providing a space and opportunity for learners to integrate the content into an authentic product. It is better than other similar sites because it provides so many options and features for contributors, but it is still user friendly.

    Blockposters is a free online tool that will accept .jpg or .gif images up to 1 MB in size, allow for poster sizing, and return a .pdf file containing the image rendered across multiple pages. Simply print the file and assemble the pages for an instant poster-sized rendition of an image, graphic organizer, instruction page, or just about anything else. This is a tool I have been looking to find for some time! While I have tried replicating the functionality of this online tool using various desktop tools, the ease of use of Blockposters is amazing and the fact that a .pdf file is returned for easy downloading and printing is a welcome surprise. This tool could easily be used for pre-training by enlarging for print most graphic organizers, mind maps, and other types of assistive instructional material that facilitates essential cognitive processing tasks. By printing a graphic organizer in large format and posting in front of a class, students can easily refer to the diagram as needed while using their computers directly in front of them. Posting a large scale printout also eliminates students having to shuffle through miscellaneous printouts on their desktops while operating their computers. Handouts of the graphic organizer could be provided, but the timing of providing the handout could be strategically incorporated into the presentation / workshop to eliminate extraneous materials during the discovery and learning phases.

The site could be used for presentations or pre-training. Students may benefit from the use of JayCut as it can facilitate the organization of materials to support essential and generative cognitive processing. By organizing text, images, and sound in a coherent manner and in a manner that upholds signaling, and spatial and temporal contiguity, students may be more inclined to organize in their own mind relationships between new material and that which is stored in working memory.

It even has a feature where you can log in as a guest, eliminating the requirement for presentation attendants to create an account. Slide Share is an example of essential learning because it provides the participant with essential material that through their presentations will lead to their working memory.

This site is a good resource for essential learning as it can provide new information in both auditory and visual forms to be processed into the working memory. I liked this site because of the quantity of presentations that are housed in one site. Presentations can be easily uploaded, shared, and embedded into sites.

This site also allows users to search for presentations and videos on topics of interest. Having used this tool before, I have found it easy to use and can see how it might be used to share any presentations or videos created for the workshop with staff who were unable to attend or with a much broader audience.

This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on using multimedia technology as an aid to human cognition (Mayer, p. 13 2009). It uses film clips to demonstrate the practical applications of various mathematical concepts to real life situations. It builds a connection of what the students are studying to a concrete example (visual) to create a clearer mental picture form prior knowledge to new knowledge that is being discovered. 2) http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ The My Lab web site is a behavioral activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on rewarding students for the correct responses (excellent) or punished for the incorrect ones (try again).
