I LOVE VoiceThread. I think it is super easy to use and provides students the opportunity to express themselves digitally.
It works great for elementary students all the way up to high school students (even adults).
You can create a single educator account for FREE or get a classroom subscription. Depending on how often you will use it I recommend splurging and buying the class subscription because you can create individual student accounts.
In general, we almost never see people use advanced search. And when they do, they typically use it incorrectly — partly because they use it so rarely that they never really learn how it works.
or many problems, the actual answer is right there. But the concept that you might have to sometimes go beyond search listings is getting lost

Sadly, when one approach is so easy (and works much of the time), users never develop the research skills needed to try or even consider other approaches.
"Today, many users are so reliant on search that it's undermining their problem-solving abilities. Ironically, the better search gets, the more dangerous it gets as people increasingly assume that whatever the search engine coughs up must be the answer."
Just watched a webinar on OTUS Moblile Learning Environment and I just might have to start using this instead of Edmodo. Here are some tutorials on how it works http://otusplus.com/tutorials/
If you would like to learn about using the Smartboard in your classroom you should check out the website teachingwithsmartboard.com. There are 75+ episodes each with 15 to 20 minutes of using the Smartboard in the classroom. Also, there is a book called "Easy Smartboard Teaching Templates" that you can check out there as well. The book goes into great detail how you can use the "free" templates on the website and begin making interactive lessons for your students in minutes.
I really don't know how I ever did anything without this program. It is perfect for scheduling student conferences, office hours, volunteer hours, sign-ups for presentations, etc. You set it up and provide the link. Those who want to sign up take over, they are e-mailed a google calendar and they are e-mailed a reminder automatically. EASY One of those "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS FREE!" programs.
