Dr. Allington made the comment that he would ban computers from an instructional role and that they didn't have a significant effect on teaching students to read.
-
The second-year study included four reading software products for first grade, Destination Reading (Riverdeep 2008), the Waterford Early Reading Program (Pearson School 2008), Headsprout (Headsprout 2008), and Plato Focus (Plato Learning Corporation 2008).

Why are some teachers always late? « one year - 58 views
-
there are too many negatives to chronic lateness for most people to do it deliberately
-
the latemonger is actually in need of help and is not receiving it. Psychologist Dr. Linda Sapadin, author of ‘Master Your Fears’, agrees. The consequences of being chronically late run deeper than many people realize.
-
"Why can some people never seem to be on time? You probably know such people, perhaps only too well. Indeed, I shouldn't rule out the possibility that if you're reading this that you are one of those people. As I indicated, everybody is late now and then, but I'm talking about those people who habitually show up after a meeting has started, or after the hour that was designated for the meeting to begin."

Just think about it: a real brick wall isn’t made from perfectly identical bricks; each brick varies in color, texture, and even size. That’s why Adobe added the ability to apply scripts to pattern fills in Photoshop CS6. 0 Continue Reading 2D to 3D in Photoshop CS6 Extended CS6 Stephen Burns shows viewers how to take an image of a 2D object and transform it into a 3D object using depth maps in the new Photoshop CS6 Extended. 1 Continue Reading Corel AfterShot Pro Product Reviews Corel’s first professional photo catalog and RAW editing software, AfterShot Pro, is based on a number of technologies—Bibble Pro, Noise Ninja, and Perfectly Clear—that are widely known and respected in the photography world. Indirect elections are “in use between 1840 and 1872. Indirect elections enhanced the political power of the hacendados, because voting districts often coincided directly with the boundaries of haciendas. The first stage of an indirect election, when voters gathered to choose electors, occurred in the cantones, the administrative sub-units of a municipality. Cantones often were made up of nothing more than one or two haciendas, giving landowners a clear advantage to control the selection of electores. Above and beyond all other aspects of the electoral system, the oral vote [in use until 1950] insured the predominance of patron-client relations” (pages 65-66). Describes process for recording oral votes. “Throughout the nineteenth century, national politics followed to a great extent the rise and fall of alliances between departmental networks. For instance, in the mid 1840s San Vicente and San Miguel were allied against Sonsonate and San Salvador” (page 163).
