Teaching Online is a website that provides resources for UCF faculty who facilitate online courses.

UCF Teaching Online Website is the one-stop shop for all resources that you need to know about teaching an online course at UCF. It provides information on pedagogy, professional develoment, resources, forms, and system status.

The World Wide Web has rapidly become the dominant Internet tool, combining hypertext and multimedia to provide a network of educational, governmental, and commercial resources. Much of its power comes from the fact that it presents information in a variety of formats while it also organizes that information through hypertext links. Because of the multimedia nature of the web combined with the poor design of some websites, many Internet surfers cannot access the full range of resources this revolutionary tool provides. Some visitors: * Cannot see graphics because of visual impairments. * Cannot hear audio because of hearing impairments. * Use slow Internet connections and modems or equipment that cannot easily download large files. * Have difficulty navigating sites that are poorly organized with unclear directions because they have learning disabilities, speak English as a second language, or are younger than the average user.

ERIC is sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education. Funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, College Open Textbooks is a collection of colleges, governmental agencies, education non-profits, and other education-related organizations that are focused on the mission of driving the awareness and advocacy for open textbooks. This includes providing training for instructors adopting open resources, peer reviews of open textbooks, and mentoring online professional networks that provide support to authors who open their resources. Through our community outreach, we have found that open textbooks should be: easy to use, get and pass around, editable so instructors can customize content, cross-platform compatible, printable, and accessible so they work with adaptive technology.

Your UCF ID serves as your Library card. Activation of your Library ID number is necessary to check out library materials, view electronic resources off-campus, and utilize Interlibrary Loan. If you are an enrolled student, staff or faculty member of UCF and have never checked out materials at any of the UCF Libraries, please fill out the form below. Circulation staff will activate your ID during regular Library operating hours.
