The Online@UCF Support provides immediate and personal support for faculty and staff who offer online Webcourses@UCF. Supporting a wide range of online faculty needs, Online@UCF Support offers phone, e-mail, and scheduled face-to-face support sessions, as well as group workshops throughout the academic year.

Trillian™ is a fully featured, stand-alone, skinnable chat client that supports AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC. It provides capabilities not possible with original network clients, while supporting standard features such as audio chat, file transfers, group chats, chat rooms, buddy icons, multiple simultaneous connections to the same network, server-side contact importing, typing notification, direct connection (AIM), proxy support, encrypted messaging (AIM/ICQ), SMS support, and privacy settings.

It offers a variety of proprietary full text databases and popular databases from leading information providers. The comprehensive databases range from general reference collections to specially designed, subject-specific databases for public, academic, medical, corporate and school libraries. EBSCO Support Site EBSCO's Support Site is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our FAQ database, tutorials, and user guides can provide answers to your technical questions. EBSCO Customer Support Representatives are also available by phone and e-mail 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday, as well as Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (US EST). How to Use Help * When the Help icon Help Question Mark appears, you can click the icon and help for the screen you are on will display. * To obtain help for the database(s) you are searching, click the Help icon Help Question Mark to the right of the Find field and click on the Database name at the bottom of the left-hand side of the Help window. Database help is also available from the Choose Databases window. * To view the entire Help System, click the Help link at the top right-hand corner of the screen. "Flat World Knowledge, a free, open source textbook publisher, has announced plans to add support for direct integration of its books into campus learning management systems (LMS) like Blackboard and ANGEL. With Flat World's LMS-supported textbooks, professors and publishers will be able to include supplementary material content in its entirety available directly on the platform and split up chapters into various folders according to their syllabus. " Their contents are expanding, but the majority of their contents focus on business at this time.

Center for Distributed Learning The Center for Distributed Learning is part of the Division of Information Technologies & Resources, and serves as the Virtual Campus for the University. The Center brings focus to University efforts in distributed learning by providing administrative support for online credit courses, degree programs, and activities offered by the University. Distributed Learning at UCF includes instructional delivery technologies such as interactive television and Web-based instruction that provide services to nontraditional, distant, and campus-based students. UCF now offers over two dozen totally Web-based degree, degree-completion, and certificate programs.

Blackboard support for Faculty, Instructors and Designers

The UCF Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Department is committed to supporting the research of UCF faculty members. In addition to interlibrary loan services, we offer a faculty document delivery service which provides scanned copies of UCF-owned journals and books held at the Circulation Desk for quick pickup. Document Delivery requests may be submitted through the ILLiad interlibrary loan system and are automatically requested via interlibrary loan if there is no copy available at the UCF Main Library. If you have a question about a specific request, or need clarification about the following services, please contact our office.

The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning is your host for your Academic New Faculty Orientation. The one-and-a-half-day event is scheduled for August 17-18, 2009 in the Student Union and Classroom 1 buildings on the Orlando Campus. Each day of the orientation is filled with important activities that will provide valuable information to enable you to have a successful start to your career at UCF. At the Academic Orientation you will meet the President, Provost, Deans, Chairs, Directors, and other new faculty. These days also include breakfast and luncheon events.
