The UCF Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Department is committed to supporting the research of UCF faculty members. In addition to interlibrary loan services, we offer a faculty document delivery service which provides scanned copies of UCF-owned journals and books held at the Circulation Desk for quick pickup. Document Delivery requests may be submitted through the ILLiad interlibrary loan system and are automatically requested via interlibrary loan if there is no copy available at the UCF Main Library. If you have a question about a specific request, or need clarification about the following services, please contact our office.

The mission of Course Development & Web Services is to support teaching, learning, and research by being "all things Web" to UCF and its partners, helping UCF achieve its strategic goals with advanced applications of instructional and information technology. Services are provided systematically through professional development programs, consultations, projects, production, technical support, R&D, and other collaborative efforts.

Get Full Text is a way to find the full text of a given article, and to see other services and options related to the article. To use Get Full Text: 1. Look for the Get Full Text or SFX button and when you search databases 2. Click the button to see a menu of full text and more. See Example Menu below. 3. Click on links in the menu to get full text, info about the volumes the library owns, services and additional search options.

Accommodations and Universal Design The best accommodations are unique to the individual and develop from a cooperative relationship between the faculty member and the student, sometimes with the assistance of the campus disabled student services office. In this area of The Faculty Room you will learn strategies for fully including students with disabilities in your course activities. You will also read case studies and answers to questions faculty members frequently ask about accommodating students with disabilities in their classes. The section on universal design tells how to be pro-active in creating an inclusive learning environment. Much of the content is duplicated in other publications, training materials, and web pages published by DO-IT.

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a 501 (c) 3 organization, is recognized as one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States. The Western region covers institutions in California and Hawaii, the territories of Guam, American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, the Pacific Basin, and East Asia, and areas of the Pacific and East Asia where American/International schools or colleges may apply to it for service.

A variety of materials can be placed on reserve by a Professor. Circulation Services offers two ways to utilize the reserve function; many items are made available both physically at the library and on the internet via the Course Reserves website. Copyright restrictions prevent all materials from being available electronically.

Research Guides are prepared by UCF reference librarians to assist users in finding resources and materials in the UCF Libraries. Most guides include sections on how to find books, journal articles, and Internet sources. If you are seeking assistance with a subject area not represented in this list, please contact the Ask a Librarian service.

Acquisitions & Collection Services

Center for Distributed Learning The Center for Distributed Learning is part of the Division of Information Technologies & Resources, and serves as the Virtual Campus for the University. The Center brings focus to University efforts in distributed learning by providing administrative support for online credit courses, degree programs, and activities offered by the University. Distributed Learning at UCF includes instructional delivery technologies such as interactive television and Web-based instruction that provide services to nontraditional, distant, and campus-based students. UCF now offers over two dozen totally Web-based degree, degree-completion, and certificate programs.

Welcome to myUCF! myUCF provides UCF staff, faculty, and students with a personalized gateway to information and applications from one secure, centralized location. Each user has access to various Web systems and tools based upon their roles within the university community. Users are able to personalize their pages to suit their particular needs. The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning is your host for your Academic New Faculty Orientation. The one-and-a-half-day event is scheduled for August 17-18, 2009 in the Student Union and Classroom 1 buildings on the Orlando Campus. Each day of the orientation is filled with important activities that will provide valuable information to enable you to have a successful start to your career at UCF. At the Academic Orientation you will meet the President, Provost, Deans, Chairs, Directors, and other new faculty. These days also include breakfast and luncheon events.

The Faculty Center at UCF was created to serve faculty. Their primary mission is to support and promote faculty in their roles as teachers, researchers, scholars, and as members of UCF and the Central Florida community. Their services, resources, and events are available to all university instructors, including full-time and part-time faculty and graduate teaching assistants.
