This has got to be the funkiest instant poll, quiz, response site around. Create questions, quizzes and polls with optional uploaded images for participants to complete in real time from a computer or mobile device. The users access the quiz by using a pin code. The 'question master' gets the data back instantly and it is stored on the site or can be downloaded. This is superb for checking the knowledge of children in your class or that your audience is still awake.

The challenge and promise of learning organisations - The Learner's Way - 4 views

  •
There is a great deal that I like about this description of humanity at its best from Ryan & Deci. It is both a goal to be achieved and an indicator of conditions which are required for us to fulfil our potential. While the focus of this statement is on the actions of the individual we can see how society might act to deny individuals the opportunities to lead such an inspired and agentic life. I like to imagine what a school might be like if every individual who plays a part in its functioning strove to extend themselves, master new skills and apply their talents responsibly.  Maybe schools would be like the 'learning organisations' described by Peter Senge.

CIS 515 WEEK 4 Assignment - Just Question Answer - 0 views

  •
Imagine that you work for a consulting firm that offers information technology and database services. Part of its core services is to optimize and offer streamline solutions for efficiency. In this scenario, your firm has been awarded a contract to implement a new personnel system for a government agency. This government agency has requested an optimized data repository for its system which will enable the management staff to perform essential human resources (HR) duties along with the capability to produce ad hoc reporting features for various departments. They look forward to holding data that will allow them to perform HR core functions such as hiring, promotions, policy enforcement, benefits management, and training. Using this scenario, write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you: 1. Determine the steps in the development of an effective Entity Relationship Model (ERM) Diagram and determine the possible iterative steps / factors that one must consider in this process with consideration of the HR core functions and responsibilities of the client. 2. Analyze the risks that can occur if any of the developmental or iterative steps of creating an ERM Diagram are not performed. 3. Select and rank at least five (5) entities that would be required for the development of the data repositories. 4. Specify the components that would be required to hold time-variant data for policy enforcement and training management. 5. Diagram a possible 1:M solution that will hold salary history data, job history, and training history for each employee through the use of graphical tools in Microsoft Word or Visio, or an open source alternative such as Dia. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.

Teaching mathematicians shouldn't be like programming a computer - The Learner's Way - 4 views

  •
Traditional methods of teaching maths have more in common with how we programme a computer that what we might do if we wanted to engage our students in mathematical thinking. We shouldn't be overly surprised then when our students consider mathematics to be all about learning a set of rules that they need to apply in the right order so as to output the correct response. But is there a better way?

Online safeguarding: trends, tools and guidelines by @CaynsleyEsafety - 0 views

  •
"While every school knows the importance of safeguarding in our digital world, it's also important that they know and understand the most effective strategies to help safeguard their pupils online, both in and out of the classroom. The UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS), have recently launched a framework which aims to highlight, across all key stages, the skills and knowledge children should have in order to feel safe, and act responsibly, online so that they are able to enjoy the online world."

How Can A Primary School Tutor Assist Your Child? - About Town Tuition | online tuition... - 0 views

  •
Primary School is the foundation of a child's educational life. How is he/she going to perform and what kind of attitude he/she exposes towards receiving education depends completely upon the care and assistance one receives in their primary school level. So, it is the responsibility of every conscious parent to provide their kid with the best care and support during the most formative period of their life. To support them successfully and completely, enrolling them in a primary school is not the only thing you have to do. They need extensive care and only an efficient primary school tutor can create the environment which will enable them to learn, making it an extremely enjoyable act.

Why we fear data and how our perception can change. - The Learner's Way - 1 views

  •
Data occupies a somewhat curious place within education. Mention it to teachers and you tend to get one of two responses. One group will roll their eyes and with great sarcasm how data is "so exciting". The other group responds with something akin to "actually I quite like data" indicating that experience has shown them that they are members of a small group. The question is why do some people find data to be a useful and fascinating tool while others see it as a good method for inducing sleep?

Our educational programme focuses on individual learning styles, program preferences, and academic potential of each student. We create future citizens which are courteous, responsible and capable of bringing laurels to their life. We orient our efforts to make students competent to deal with life situations and empowered to be successful in life, rather just in examinations. We intend to adopt a sound pedagogy to nurture two basic components of education namely, Values and Understanding.

  •
There is so much publicity and marketing around for the 'Back to school' push, and here in the UK it starts back in June as retailers grapple to win custom. But students are not the only ones returning to school after a pro-longed break, so we asked teachers what their essential items are to buy, before returning back for another school year. Here are the top 15 items, in no particular order, and you can see the responses in the Storify summary...

We've always done it that way - The Learner's Way - 5 views

  •
Experience shapes our understanding of the world and our responses to it. Our past influences our decision making and constrains our imaginations of what is and is not possible. Understanding this is a crucial step towards change; a first step towards discovering a better way to do things. Until we understand how our experience is limiting our imaginations we will continue to be restrained by the way things have always been done.

What is a property management company, and how does it work? - 0 views

  •
Many people associate property management with the buying and selling of a type of property, which is completely wrong. The property management company works for your convenience, it takes care of your residential and commercial property and finding a good tenant. Performs all types of tasks related to the tenant, also bears the responsibility of maintaining your property. * Rent monitoring and rental cheque collection from tenant. * Depositing the cheque in to landlord's bank account. * Pay the property tax on behalf of landlord and send lease renewal reminder to landlord and tenant. * Solve all rent issues like advance rent, escalation in rent etc. * Handover or possession from existing lease.
