EDUCAUSE Review Online Developed in response to the crisis in remedial and general-education math courses, this innovative model pairs an existing parent course with a one-unit supplemental hybrid course to provide a variety of interventions and practices to support students at California State University, Northridge. The model divides instruction among faculty, teaching assistants, and tutors, who coordinate content to create a "flow of learning" that actively moves students from classroom work, to group work, to homework, to exams. First fully implemented in 2008, the model's results have been dramatic - essentially reversing the downward trend in student success and vastly improving students' average scores and the distribution of the grades.

An ambitious project being funded by the EU (EU project number 539717-LLP-1-2013-1-IT-GRUNDTVIG-GMP) that is designed to "develop an appropriate quality framework as well as tools to evaluate the quality of Blended Learning." Will be interested to monitor how they come to resolve some of the issues pointed out in the Blendkit2016 material.

Interesting! I was a bit taken aback by the lack of concrete ways to assess online courses from the readings, so this is helpful!

Simmons College instructor Madalaine Pugliese describes her design process for blended learning courses in this case study featuring short video clips, complete text transcript, and actual example documents from Pugliese's design/teaching practice. Of particular note are the sample course schedules from the "traditional" and blended formats of her course and her storyboarding process for blended learning course design using index cards.

The LTC server at the University of Manitoba has been decommissioned and so this link no longer works. In my (ultimately unsuccessful) search for this lit review, I came across this 2011 COHERE report on blended learning: http://cohere.ca/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/REPORT-ON-BLENDED-LEARNING-FINAL1.pdf; there's a decent reference list at the end of the document. COHERE is a Canadian group, Collaboration for Online Higher Education and Research.

We've been using Quality Matters for several years and although it might appear that the focus is "quality in online courses", the rubric and process works well for blended learning as well. https://www.qualitymatters.org/
