I thought this video was pretty interesting! I believe it might be the principal who said they removed it for "safety" reasons, but I kind of don't believe that. At the end, a lot of students were around the area of the wrecking ball as if they were protesting it to come back or mocking its absence? haha I don't know! It was interesting!

Article about Gaga's performance of her new song along with a video of her performing it at the YouTube Music Awards. I found Gaga's promotion of her new album very interesting as every stage seems to have been carefully constructed and planned as to get the most amount of exposure.

Holy cow, Lady Gaga is a wreck in this video. Don't get me wrong; I love Gaga, and I think she's insanely talented. Her emotions are completely reflected in her voice, though, and it was totally affecting her pitch. I wonder what that was all about.

The style of this song and the way she sung it reminded me a lot of Lana Del Ray's style! Very interesting and quite beautiful.

I found this article on buzz feed that compares Lady Gaga in her many bizarre outfits to random objects. You will be surprised at the the likeness of some such as the outdoor heater or the weight loss pill!!

I thought this was pretty funny! The Professor Trelawney one was pretty good! I just wonder how tiring it would be to always be dressing up like that! Or it could be fun as well!

In the media, in the songs we're listening to, and in our everyday lives, there seems to be a war between Gays and Christians. It's whether you're on one side or the other. In the songs that we are to listen to for Thursday's class, there's an underlying topic about how all Christians are against Gay rights and they want to prosecute them. This article talks about Christians who are actually for Gay rights! Check it out!

This can relate to the class discussion on Lady Gaga's 'Telephone' music video and how there is this reversal of the black/white dynamic. This article continues to discuss how Gaga isn't oblivious to her own normativity and how she deliberately plays with her 'whiteness' but in actuality she is then oblivious to to white privilege. Thus the protagonist and in this case Gaga gets the attention while women of colour (beyonce) that are contributing to the redefinition of music and gender performances are marginalised.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this website before but i though it was amazing with a capital 'A'!! Most of the posts are about the relationship between race and pop culture and the media. So if anyone was thinking of doing their final project with relations to race and pop culture then this is definitely a site to browse through.

I found this hilarious parody of Taylor Swift and her song Trouble. This Parody focuses on Taylor Swift's love life and sees her ex-boyfriends speaking out against the fact she constantly writes about her break ups. I thought it was a fun way to show how Taylor Swift is represented in the media.

We talked briefly about this song in class so I thought I would post it for those who had not heard it or seen the video.As someone who is not really a fan of Bieber I do enjoy this particular song; a guilty pleasure like we discussed in class.

In class today, we talked about Beliebers and how Justin was such a big thing.  This is just an interview Justin has with Zach Galifianakis on his show "Between Two Ferns."  

Miley Cyrus got her fourth tattoo! Rumor has it that it is supposed to be either a younger version of Dolly Parton (who is her godmother) or her grandmother. Personally, I like the tattoo a lot; probably because I love Kat Von D's work!

Sounds like Lady Gaga isn't too happy with the way things are going with her new album! Lady Gaga fired her manager just days before her album release, which isn't very common among pop stars [this close to such a major event]. It's a pretty big deal; I suggest you all check this out!

One of my friends just posted this on Facebook. It talks about this new trend of younger girls posting videos on YouTube to get validation on being pretty or not. I didn't get thought the whole article because my laptop is going ot dye in like 3 minutes! But check it out, it's pretty interesting and the include some videos that the girls make. 

This article is about Lady Gaga going back on what she "stands" for. It talks about how she now uses her music in commercials, and some argue she's a "sell out." The song used in the commercial, "Applause," kind of goes a long with the theme of this article and questions what Gaga's motves really are.

Interesting that when the Youtube Awards went on that everyone expected and focused the fact that the group who won best music award was not a popular American group or one that was really on the radar here.
