This is an image, since I couldn't find a video of this, but I think it works anyways. When we were talking in class about how Same Love portrays gay people in the wrong light, it made me think of this scene in Modern Family.
This video is from Key and Peele's show. I think this video can be relevant to Thursday's class, when we talked about Macklemore and his song, Same Love. It's obviously supposed to be funny, but just the fact that Key and Peele are both black makes for an interesting twist.
In class today, we talked about Beliebers and how Justin was such a big thing. This is just an interview Justin has with Zach Galifianakis on his show "Between Two Ferns."
Interesting tumblr postings. It seems that the author of this certain tumblr doesn't support Lady Gaga and other divas. An interesting viewpoint, especially from Jennex's article.
I couldn't find the entire interview with Ellen and Lady Gaga, but I did find the song she played. I just wanted to see her outfit, from the Gray-Rosendale article we read.
This video reminds me of the Watson and Rialton article we read for Tuesday. The black women are hypersexualized and animalistic, while the white women are looking down on the black women (like in the beginning of the song).
This clip is from the TV show Happy Endings. It has six friends who hang out together, and they are all at a wedding. Max, the guy who is singing the Madonna song, is gay, and is part of a Madonna band called "Mandonna." I know we talked about Lady Gaga and Madonna, and I just thought this is a funny parody of Madonna.
I guess Miley has some new photos out that are pretty risque. This post just writes about how Miley is all about the controversy and getting people to talk about her.
This blog post talks about how Miley Cyrus is a genius because "she doesn't just talk like a bad girl, she behaves like one...if you're a musician, that's an incredible place to be." Sinead O'Connor also wrote a letter to Miley about empowerment.
This blog post talks about Lady Gaga's video for "Born this Way." Horn believes that while Lady Gaga establishes herself as Queen Elizabeth I in the opening of her video, Lady Gaga is an "anti" Queen Elizabeth I because of the gender issues between the two.
