Every good paper needs some form of argument against to make the argument for even stronger. The journal is a study based on 79 high school students. These students in years prior had completed a course that dealt with managing their finances. The study showed that these kids were no smarter, or held any knowledge that other students didn't regarding financial literacy and spending. I thought that this journal was great because it showed that it might not even be the education that lead to poor spending. Also the students who took the course even noted that they did not spend their money in the right ways.

Web. 21 Nov. 2010. Bullying has taken on a new form as it has started to occur through the Internet and cell phones and has begun to be known as "cyberbullying." This article focuses on a study in which students of secondary schools took a survey on how often the had been bullied through electronic means. In the first study, phone call and text messaging bullying were most frequent. In the second study, phone call and instant messaging were most frequent and text messaging next. Both studies discovered that cyberbullying takes place more often outside of school than inside school. This can be stopped maybe by informing parents more and including this topic in education.

They did a survey of the curriculum's of various schools which have a strong international student base and found this to be true. All in all it proves its point that the notion of an international education actually most times does not do much in the way of preparing the students for an international or global education.

Johnson makes clear that in the United States there needs to me more emphasis on teaching Braille to young students. It shows the concerns that parents, teachers, and students have about visually impaired children are no longer learning to read and write Braille. Due to the advances in technology Braille has become obsolete. This article gives the different perspectives of both teachers and parents when it comes to their children learning Braille. Finally Johnson says that he believes that there should be more of an integration of visually impaired children into regular classrooms. He also knows that this will not be easy. Although the students will benefit from being in an integrated class room, they need daily contact with a teacher who specializes in working with visually impaired student.

They support that this could be true but that art should be valued in and of itself, and therefore should always be existent in education.

It was done with 110 undergraduate women to see what they thought about the images the media was projecting toward them and how it effects how they see themselves. It was also done to see what would help stop this from continuing to happen to these young women. Throughout the study it was shown that with the help of this "intervention" the women began to question whether or not the images were really what ideal beauty looks like. This shows that through media literacy something like this can be stopped and women can feel better about their body image.

Web. 16 Nov. 2010. Autism is found to be four more times common in boys than girls. People diagnosed with ASD either are high functioning or low functioning. The people who are considered high functioning are categorized as having Aspergers Syndrom in the autism spectrum. People diagnosed with AS are being placed in regular classrooms because typically they have average intelligence, or above average intelligence. Children with autism have difficulties understanding important information, literal thinking styles, comprehending and thinking abstractly, and have difficulties with their organization skills. Because of their inability to think abstractly, they have a difficult time learning how to read. Autistic children don't have a great attention span, they have trouble learning the rules of grammar, and they lack the motivation to learn to read. Hyperlexia is a term used to describe some autistic people. It means they have an understanding of the pronunciation and recognition of a word, but they lack the comprehension of the meaning of the word.

The site gives a general medical overview of Autism's causes, symptoms, and treatments.

It shows statistics on how much the cost of a student would spend depending on their physical activity as well. Overall, college can have an extreme impact on a students' life.

As the description implies, this might be an easy introduction to a rather complex topic. Wolf, a professor of child development at Tufts University, integrates psychology and archaeology, linguistics and education, history and neuroscience in a truly path-breaking look at the development of the reading brain-a complicated phenomenon that Wolf seeks to chronicle from both the early history of humanity and the early stages of an individual's development ("unlike its component parts such as vision and speech... reading has no direct genetic program passing it on to future generations"). Along the way, Wolf introduces concepts like "word poverty," the situation in which children, by age five, have heard 32 million less words than their counterparts (with chilling long-term effects), and makes time for amusing and affecting anecdotes, like the only child she knew to fake a reading disorder (attempting to get back into his beloved literacy training program). Though it could probably command a book of its own, the sizable third section of the book covers the complex topic of dyslexia, explaining clearly and expertly "what happens when the brain can't learn to read."
