Academic Search Complete. EBSCO. Web. 16 Nov. 2010. This article focuses on the importance of the assimilation of the Islamic religion in liberal arts education. Living in a post 9/11 society, it is important to educate in order to correct global misunderstandings about the Islamic religion. The failure to teach Islam as a world religion has resulted in ignorance about the role of this religion in world history. Scholars have criticized that the misunderstandings about Islam, and present global conflicts are due to inaccurate media portrayals and the lack of education within schools. While Islam is a peaceful religion, the media has been shaping a negative stereotype of associating Muslims with violence. This article focuses on this understudied issue within Asia and attempts to incorporate this information to Chinese students in Eastern Asia.

This article asks the question of how schools define "winning" with their student-athletes. Should it be a diverse person with all around success, or is it excellence in a singular sport? The truth is that people are now trying to focus on one sport in order to gain a scholarship. The problem with this is that it draws the student athlete away from other valued activities. The desire to specialize conflicts with many schools' core values.

Media is a means of persuasion. When used by a strict government it can be a way of persuading citizens to do or not do something. Through stereotypes the mass media can be used to change public sentiment towards whatever the producers of this media would like. This can be helpful or hurtful to a nation. Through the discussion of this topic it shows the reader examples of this. Specifically it talks about the Middle East and the Israeli conflict.
