The article deals with the relationship of severe child sexual abuse and mental health symptoms during the adult years. Respondants of the survey taken showed that in the thirties and fourties that if they were attacked by more than one abuser and did not discuss their abuse within one year of the attack they had a greater number of mental health symptoms. The clients who are at higher risk of mental health symptoms should be assessed by professionals.

    This study dealt with the long-term effects of different kinds of child abuse. Nearly four hundred college students studied many aspects of child abuse history. What these students found was that when abuse is present, it is typical for more than one kind to be used. Every type of abuse was followed by certain symptoms, and whoever experienced more than one kind of abuse experienced numerous symptoms. Therefore, it is essential to study all types of abuse when doing research.

If the person reading your paper has no prior knowledge of Autism, then they will be completely in the dark while reading it. The site gives a general medical overview of Autism's causes, symptoms, and treatments.

One is hyper-sensitive and the other is hypo-sensitive. Autistic kids who are hyper-sesitive often have habits of flicking the ear, clapping or moving the hands in front of the eyes, and grinding the teeth. Some studies have shown that kids with autism have greater sensory symptoms than children with regular learning disabilities, although some say that they have vey similar symptoms. From the studies, autistic children showed more impairment in auditory hyper-sensitive and visual factors compared to the learning disability group or the control group.

A study was taken from both men and women and their body mass index. After the study the scientists reviewed that most of the adolescents scored very high in having problems or disorders. I can only conclude that here in the United States that we would have an even bigger problem than China.

Weight gain, dietary restraint, and disordered eating in the freshman year of college - 1 views

    Objective: The aims of the study were to assess whether women during the first year of college experience (1) significant weight gain; (2) a prospective relation between dietary restraint and weight gain; (3) an increase in disordered eating; and (4) a prospective relation between dietary restraint or concern about the Freshmen 15 (i.e., weight gain of 15 lbs during the freshman year of college) and disordered eating.\n\nMethod\nParticipants were 336 female students in their first year of college who completed questionnaire measures of Body Mass Index (BMI), eating disorder pathology, dietary restraint, body image, and self-esteem.\n\nResults\nParticipants' mean weight gain was approximately 3 lbs (1.5 kg), and among those who gained weight, the mean gain was 7.32 lbs (3.3 kg). Dietary restraint in September did not predict weight change in April, but participants who lost weight reported significantly greater dietary restraint than those participants who gained weight. Eating disorder symptoms increased significantly from September to April. Dietary restraint, concern about the "Freshman 15", and self-esteem in September uniquely predicted EDE-Q Weight and Shape Concern subscale scores in April.\n\nDiscussion\nFemale students in their first year of college gain a small but significant amount of weight, and weight gain was mostly unrelated to dietary restraint. Disordered eating increases during the first year of college and, is predicted by prospective dietary restraint and concerns about weight gain.

One reason for a decrease in Braille reading is the improvement of medical technology. There are more children today that are become visually impaired due to an accident and these children more than likely have multiple disabilities. These children's primary handicap is not listed as a visual one therefore it seems that children with visual impairments may be declining, and with that goes funding for Braille programs. Another reason is technology. It is easier today to convince Americans that technology is a better means for a visually impaired person to communicate than Braille. Also, there is discussion over many people turning to technology to communicate because learning Braille is difficult and time consuming. Finally, this article gives hope that these issues will be more widely recognized in the future.

The results from the parents showed that children struggled communicating with others due to their symptoms. Also, the kids had problems comprehending what they read. The children then had major problems in school with reading and writing aspects. The results showed that language comprehension is related to the learning and social problems of children with ADHD.
