Ingraham L. Cynthia, Jean F. Andrews. "The hands and reading: What deafblind adult readers tell us." The British Journal of the Visually Impairment 28.2 (2010) : 103-138. Electronic Journal Center. Web. 3 November 2010. This article tells the story of three adults who are deaf blind and their approach to reading different types of texts. It provides analysis and interviews with each individual as they reflect on how they learned language and how to read as young children. Many deaf blind people tend to isolate themselves and remain illiterate in their home for most of their lives. However the story of these three individual is different. For them they are readers who enjoy reading for pleasure and have achieved higher levels of education because of their reading skills. These three people all used computer technology, scanners, print enlargers, and JAWS software. These people stress the importance that technology played along their journey to literacy.

This is journal article examines the difference between children with ADHD on and off medication. The researchers ran a test that judged the children's auditory awareness. The researchers tested both kids with ADHD and kids without ADHD. The results showed that children with ADHD performed much worse without the stimulant medication than the children without ADHD. This shows that auditory awareness can directly be influenced by the attention status of children who have ADHD.

These three groups have been advertising for a long time about what is necessary in order to stay healthy and be aware of your health.

People can not decide whether or not the students are making better nutritional decisions or not. It comes to the conclusion that students who know more about health and nutrition are more likely to develop these disorders because they are more aware of their intake. Therefore, there is no specific type of student which is affected by nutrition and health.

There is a lot of discussion about having mandatory class at the high school level, which will help students with their finances. EBSCO. Web. 18 Nov. 2010. The article served as a study that was done on college students. It was an intervention that mainly forced college students to track just how they spent their money. The purpose of the experiment was to bring awareness to the students at the end to show them what possible mistakes, or poor expenditures they had made. The study showed that when students tracked how they spent their money, they universally increased their spending knowledge, and made very few careless purchases. When these students actually tracked how they spent their money the study showed that they realized the values that their parents and guardians had taught them.

Web. 17 Nov. 2010. In this article, Susan Landt focuses on the importance of integrating multicultural literature into studies, especially at the adolescent level. Introducing multicultural literature into the classroom is necessary in providing a wider view that opens students to insights of other cultures. Landt claims that if multicultural literature were an integrated part of education teachers wouldn't be struggling to incorporate diversity and multicultural education in their classes. Several important reasons for this assimilation is to acknowledge the many cultures and their contributions to the world. It also helps to bring children into contact with other cultures and helps them to develop awareness at an early age, which will encourage respect for all peoples.

This website talks about making a software specifically for the elderly to make it easier for them to use. It also has some articles written talking about why the elderly may have some trouble using and learning about computers. I found it so interesting because it proves a point that people are thinking about this topic. It is a big deal if there is software that is being developed specifically for the purpose to help the elderly.

This article explores financial literacy through race, gender and age. For most people their financial literacy improves as they become older. There are an abundant amount of statistics in this piece. In order to raise awareness of financial literacy college professors have begun developing classes to teach students how to become financially independent.

This article is about research that studied the nutritional knowledge of college athletes. Despite popular belief that college athletes are well aware of nutrition, this research indicates that the nutritional knowledge of college athletes is minimal. The research was conducted on student athletes at Southern university. The student athletes were tested on of current dietary recommendations, sources of nutrients, healthy food choices, and the relationship between diet and disease processes. The research showed that majority of athletes at Southern university had healthy attitudes about eating behaviors, however had little knowledge.
